SUPERNIGHT (TM) 16.4ft(5M) 5050 300LEDs/pc RGB multi-color Waterproof(IP-65) SMD Flexible Strip light

Year 2018:Bought three of these SUPERNIGHT 5M RGB strip. I have them running 24/7 for the past two month, they are still wroking well. The adhesive tape on them however is not super strong and not resistant to heat. Bright LEDs run hot and I've been running them 24/7 which probably helps in the failure of the adhesive.The seller eBestrade was also quick to replace a initial power adapter that was DOA.Year 2020:My order from 2018 is still running without issue (besides adhesive as mentioned in 2018) and have been running 24/7. Ordered 6 more of these in 2020 from the same seller, fulfilled by amazon. But I have received different lights. They are individual single color LEDs (probably 3528 size) instead of RGB (tri color) LEDs (5050 size as listed and ordered). Waiting for exchange to arrive, will update if I receive the wrong one again.

I've used many LED strip lights in the past. I have a 6 foot section of red on my truck for a tailgate Brake and Turn that has been in place for about 6 months now w/o issue."3M" ADHESIVE COMES OFF LED STRIP! This is the first RGB LED I had purchased. After properly prepping the surface where the 6m length was to be installed (under my RV awning), and installing like I have with other LED light strips. The "3M" backing started coming off the LED strip on both ends but remained stuck to my prepped surface.HOT!! After leaving on for about 30 minutes, black SMD (resistors I believe) closest to the power input were noticeably hot, not warm as expected but hot! I suppose if I would use a shorter length they would not be so hot, but since I used the whole 6 meters... it leaves some doubt how long I can safely leave these on. I'll probably get my brother to design a regulator to limit current draw or place a potentiometer in line to lower voltage (lowering the brightness as well) but at lease it should reduce the chance of burning up the strip.Can not recommend full length for use under awning.

better color bin match from roll to roll than some brands we've used. first tried to 'roll our own' waterproof strips by installing them in routed channels and gooing them over with lexel...nope as it cures it shrinks just enough to literally pick the chips off of the tape. then tried silicon...better, but no real longevity...then gave up and bought waterproof like we should have initially & used silicon or lexel to basically glue them into the routed channels....muuuuuch better. don't forget, if installing in a metallic channel, you will need to insulate the underside of the strip where the primary cut points are as they are bare on the underside too, the secondary cut points are shielded by the tape (look at the back of the strip after removing the slick tape to expose the sticky & you'll understand)

This would be a perfect RGB Led strand if the adhesion would stick. Terrible adhesion, surfaces were properly cleaned and prepped but led lights come off after minutes due to the bad adhesion. Overall the colors and brightness are great, but useless if they can't stick... had to spend extra money on 3m VHB tape to fix. Would honestly give 5 stars if they would fix the adhesion. For now 1 star.UPDATE: Customer service is great, Kevin contacted me and is sending a free replacement. I will update rating and give 5-star if replacement he sends works.UPDATE 2: Excellent customer service. Kevin sent me a replacement. Works great, slightly better adhesion... however, I would still suggest 3M VHB tape for permanent installs. 5-star for customer service, 4-star for product.

Works great! I've bought 10 of these so far to light up the driveway and around 3 sides of the house. I three controllers so I can change lighting to different colors (ex red/white/blue for the Fourth of July, red/green for Christmas, orange/purple for Halloween, etc). Only buying this one for replacement. It doesn't like weed whackers.

Got a few reels of these lights to use for house parties and small events. The stick on backing is completely useless though, so don’t depend on that to mount them and find something else. I set these temporarily so I never use the adhesive anyway. They are a great value for the money

If you plan to use more than one set of these lights in the same room or installation, you may want to order twice as many as you need AT THE SAME TIME.The color consistency, which shows up in the White setting, is terrible, and it is worse if you order at different times, even if you order the exact same product from the exact same supplier. Out of a set of 6 ordered simultaneously, there were 3 with a blue tint to the white light, 2 with a green tint to the white light, and 1 with a warm yellow white light. The test setting included 6 individual power supplies and 5 signal repeaters with a common controller. Not the problem of the controller. Moving the LED light strips did not change their color tone.I now go in search of more accurate color from another LED supplier. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
