Beautiful Poetry
I read this in college and have no idea where my original copy ended up from 40 years ago. But now I'm retired and I wistfully recalled bits of one of his poems, so bought this new copy. I was so excited to find the same book I had way back when! Gerard Manley Hopkins is one of my favorite poets of all times.

his quest for God a painful experience. His poetry can withstand many readings
Hopkins is an interesting study, an unfulfilled life, his quest for God a painful experience. His poetry can withstand many readings, it is poetry ahead of its time giving it the feel of poetry written many decades later, even as it often appears incomplete, in need of editing. Understandable as none of it was published in his lifetime.

Four Stars
A lovely collection, far more aesthetically pleasing than the Oxford complete poems, especially for undergraduate use.

Letters and Sermons by Gerard Manley Hopkins - thought provoking
This is a book of poetry, letters and sermons by Gerard Manley Hopkins. I am more interested in the letters and sermons, than in the poetry, since GMH was a convert to Catholicism. I purchased the book because I read one of his sermons in another publication, and it was very thought-provoking. I wanted to read more. the book, so far, is as expected.
