Shock Coffee (Caffeinated), Whole Bean Coffee, 5-Pound Bag

From looking at the beans you can see that little or no effort was taken to Cleaning and sorting of the raw beans... Yes, there exists a blend of many types.... The presence of Robusta bean is where the extra caffeine derives.. along with everything else!I was interested in the extra caffeine, as maybe there was a unique technique in the processing of the beans being used.. For the $$ spent plain grocery store coffee bean would have had a better taste and in my opinion equivalent caffeine properties.. However, it did get me searching the internet and wikipedia for coffee production/processing information and now I'm better informed and can shop wiser, so it was a valuable lessen! :)

Nov 2012: Update. The covers are wearing much quicker than any other seat cover I had. I updated from 4 to 3 stars.May 2012: Just finished my first bag. Lasted 5 months. The coffee tastes perfectly fine, in fact better than most store bought coffees I've had over the years. My primary reason for purchase was for the extra caffiene. I noticed no difference in the 'caffiene kick' comparing this coffee with any other but it does taste great. Bottom line, I'm purchasing my second bag. If you're unsure, my advice, buy a bag. You can't go wrong with the price and taste.

This is some of the best coffee I have ever had.I was getting tired of the Costco/Sams bulk coffee beans. Yes the coffee was good, but it just did not live up to the starbucks bean (for example). It took so many beans for a pot of coffee it just was not making any sense. I figure the beans from the wholesale club were just old, and lost alot of their bang.Searching on Amazon I saw the Shock Coffee and after reading some reviews (thank you btw) I decided to try it.1. It is great tasting coffee - seriously smooth and rich coffee flavor2. It takes about half of the beans as the other variety I mentioned.3. These beans are so good, I can run another cup through the grounds ( I use a bun coffee maker) and get another great tasking cup5 stars is a no brainier.

I usually buy Coffee Bean Direct Sumatra Mandheling, but I decided to try Shock Coffee after reading some of the reviews. It is strong and dark, as the name suggests, though nowhere near as complex as Sumatra. I also haven't noticed any real difference in caffeine levels compared to other coffees. Still, brewed correctly it is quite palatable, especially since I use adulterants in my coffee (cream and sugar.)That being said, I am afraid that I cannot recommend this coffe to anyone, because the last bag I ordered contained foreign matter that broke my grinder. I had to repair my old Baratza Maestro, and I even ordered a new Capresso grinder from Amazon, just to have a backup. I sorted through the remainder of the bag, bean by bean, and found some things that--although they appear to have been roasted--they were most definitely not coffee.Maybe I just got a bad batch, but I cannot afford to order this stuff again because coffee grinders aren't cheap. I'll be switching back to Coffee Bean Direct.

I've had better and I've had worse. I can't really tell there is extra caffine but others who've had it say they can . Its a little bitter unless you are a sugar lover.

I have been ordering this coffee for over a year now and I have not ever had a digestion problem as I have had with other coffee. I have two cups a day, it gives me the get up and go that I would have only got from drinking pots of "regular" coffee.I highly recommend it to anyone who has a hard time with waking in the morn or needs to get over the slump of midday.The only bad thing I can say is this coffee makes all others taste like swill, so you will either start carrying a thermos or stop drinking coffee out.

I JUST RATE IT AS AVERAGE CAUSE IT DOES NOT SEEM HIGH IN CAFFEINE TO ME BUT I ALSO DRINK A LOT OF MOUNTAIN DEW

I desired fully caffeinated, nutty tasting non-bitter whole beans and lots of them for less than 10 bucks/ lb. My desire has been satisfied with this stuff. For context, I drink around 12 cups of coffee a day; in other words, I take my coffee very seriously.
