A201 2.0 Animal Repellent

Having read all the reviews, I took a chance on this product since the deer are absolutely destroying our flower beds. We have dozens that roam the neighborhood. It set up very easy and looks to be well made. Nice rubber gaskets on the panels. I positioned it a choke point that leads from the woods to our yard between a couple of deer fences. The instructions said it might be overly sensitive in hot weather, but I turned up the sensitivity to Max since it was not registering until I got very close. I also swiveled the sensor up a bit higher since it was aimed very low.So far this baby is working great! We have only actually heard it go off a few times. My wife saw a little baby doe running back into the woods after setting it off. The spray distance is reasonable. The water supply seems quite adequate. Some of out plants are sending out new shoots so we will know for sure whether it is working. Most likely we will get a second unit to guard entrance from the street side of the house.It almost seems like the deer have gotten a taste of our Guardener Sentinel and are now shying away from the area in general. Overall I am very pleased with this product.UPDATE 4/18/16 - Just put the unit back in its spot as Spring is here in N.E. Ohio. Fired right up and already the deer are not shying away from the area in general. At times there are 8 or 10 deer laying in the woods by the house but they are staying clear of the area. That is why I am purchasing another one today to guard the front entrance to the corridor along the side of the house. Bow hunters were approved in the last election so hopefully the heard will get thinned a bit. With the current population there is no way for the wooded area to replenish itself.UPDATE 8/26/16: We finally got blooms on a number of plants! The Hostas got to grow up for once. We are seeing flowers on plants that have never had a chance to flower before the deer chewed them down. One note, put some petroleum jelly on the screw heads since they are not stainless and will rust. Very happy with this product. Our neighborhood is over-run with deer and the Guardener has worked great.UPDATE 6/8/18: Like most anything, these will require maintenance. You need to open it up and clean off the battery contacts and/or replace battery. They take a beating in the sun. Also, need to bleach them out since you can get some scunge growing in there. Be sure to give them some TLC each year as they will get water into the battery compartment after a few years.

Excellent concept - installed and it worked for about 2 months - then it stopped working completely. I contacted the manufacturer - Guardeners.com - and they confirmed that something is wrong with the electronics. But, they said I needed to return to where I bought. Unfortunately, Amazon will not accept a return on this item after 60 days (even though the warranty is for a year). So $130 bucks down the drain. I'd advise to stay away from this product via amazon. Buy it direct from the manufacturer if you still want to take the chance.

Pros: Solar means no connecting power. Built in water basin means no connecting it to a hose. The water sprayer DOES scare off deer when it is working. The battery is good and will last a while.Cons: The water spraying spigot tends to break or become misaligned frequently. I have given up on repairing mine after it failed for the 5th time. The sounds it makes do not effectively scare the deer. the water basin will need to be filled often, as every other time the motion detector detects motion, water is sprayed.Conclusion: I really wanted to like this item, but I cannot endorse it after having had it for 2 years. I have given up on it and have purchased a "Scarecrow" to try next.

Wanted this to work but having some problems with it. Can't get the angle of the eye just right and have difficulty adjusting the spray. Doesn't seem to have a very wide field of view. I have only seen it go off once on my husband when he was cutting the grass. My flowers show some sign of deer eating the plants although not as much as in the past.

Purchased 4 of these units. 2 came in broken and Amazon replaced them. The packaging almost guarantees they will break in shipment. That said, they work like a charm!!! We are on 15 acres of land against a game preserve. Herds of deer are NORMAL but since installing these, not one deer. I have looked out an seen them avoid the protected area. Even when I do not fill them with water, the sound of the pump scares them off. When I pull them in this winter, I will open them and if needed, seal the electronics (per another review). A little pricey but beats replacing $15,000 worth of landscaping.

We live in an area that has a large deer population and many of our plantings were being eaten by the deer. We tried chemicals and home potions, which worked to some extent ,but never totally prevented the deer from doing their damage. The chemicals had to be constantly renewed and some were not very safe. Then we read about the Guardener A201 2.0 Animal Repellent and we decided to give it a try. We placed it near a flower bed that is about 12 feet long and for the first time in years the deer have not eaten the flowers. It works by first sending out a sonic sound at four individual frequencies (to discourage different types of animals) and then by spraying water in an arc if the sonic sound does not scare the animals away. Unlike other similar products that require a garden hose to be connected with the water supply left on all the time, the Guardener A201 is self contained and holds about two gallons of water. Depending on use, you'll probably have to fill it about once a week. The product works great and is totally safe for the environment. It is a little pricey, but if the Guardener A201 proves to be a reliable product that will last, it is well worth the money.

I received a defective Guardener from you. I would either like a refund other another one sent to me. The sensor quite working, it worked for about a week and no longer does anything.Please advise.Thanks,Corey Anderson

I am truly disappointed. This product is a great idea just poorly manufactured. It stopped working three weeks after install. Their web site says to call for the symptoms I was having. I called four times and got no response. I will attempt to fix it myself - I believe the battery is bad and won't hold a charge - but you cannot rely on customer service!
