OHMAGERD these things are awesome. I will admit when I first opened them, I thought, "Wait a minute... A loop, some webbing, and a couple of bowlines? I paid for this?"Still, there's nothing wrong with simple, elegant, and effective. Kind of like hammocks, come to think.Google around and you can DIY similar but really, these are pretty cheap on their own. I'd say unless I'm making several I don't know that I could MYOG for less than the price of these, and they're well made with a nice stuff sack.I can hang my hammock and ridgeline in under 5 minutes now. Wow. Now to either make or get more so I have one for every hammock. Not having to trust my iffy knot-tying skills again FTW.

Purchased and used on a recent hammock camping trip I went on with my friends, I needed a set of slings in two days and wanted them to be light weight.These Grand Trunk slings seemed to be perfectly adequate for what I needed them for.They have an advertised weight of 5.6 ounces and I have weighed mine in at 9.3 ounces with the stuff sack, 8.95 without. The tie out points that come preknotted seem to be slightly less of a fine tune then I would want, but with these it isnt hard to just add yourself more knots, something you can not do with the nylon or webbing type slings. The distance they covered seemed to work out just fine for me, but I was jealous of the length of my friends straps that were almost twice as long. In the end though, these kept me high and dry (in a good way!) the whole week and I have no complaints other then the weight descrepency.I want to get another brand slings that are more heavy duty and will probably go with Kammok Python straps, so that I can hang my pack off the ground with me. (They weigh an advertised extra 6.6 ounces and hold another 100 pounds.) That may not seem like a lot to some, but it does to a true gram weenie like myself.

We got this at the last minute for a cross country camping trip and it worked perfectly. I looked at the fancier and more expensive option out there, but am glad we went with a cheaper and basic system. I have little experience with setting up hammocks, but with these had the hammock up in a couple of minutes. At some point it would be nice to replace the S hooks with good carabiners, but of course that is more expensive. Our kids (4 and 9) played roughly with the hammock (used it as a swing, etc. . . ) and it never came off.

Over the years, I've used hooks in trees, since we often go to the same spot to camp again and again--but that meant that I rarely got to use my hammock unless we were camping. My dad spied these and suggested them, so I got them. I used this on our latest camping trip, and I'm in love! They were super easy to use--just pulled them out, wrapped around the tree, and I had my hammock set up in just a few short minutes. The only thing was that I had to add additional knots on both because even with the trees being the perfect distance, the knots weren't high enough on the slings to hold the hammock up (I'm also short, so I can only place them so high, but my brother, who is over 6 foot, still couldn't get them high enough without the new knots). The great thing is, you CAN add knots, so it just took a second or two to knot, and then I was swinging away in my hammock. They are lightweight and not bulky (they fit nicely into the bag I already carry my hammock in). I highly recommend for anyone who loves a lazy afternoon (or a comfy night!) out in nature.

I bought these slings primarily because I felt terrible seeing my friends tear bark off trees as their sub-par knots slipped while they hammocked. It took less than a month before everyone fell in love with how easy they were to set up (no more knots to tie, ever) and how easy they were to pack into the pouch they come with.These slings:- come with knots pre-tied, but you can tie more into it if you need a very specific length- come with a stuff bag- handle my weight (~200lbs) for upwards of 4 hours without slipping an inch- are slightly heavier than the rope that comes with most modern hammocks- are made with very rugged/durable materialOne thing to note is that the first set I got had a fray on the rope, and I had to send it back. Be sure to check the rope on yours before using it, to ensure you don't wind up with a broken tailbone like I almost did.

These got delivered yesterday. So today I took them out in the back yard to give em a try. I have what I suspect is the cheapest Grand Trunk hammock. So thats what I hung with them.These are the basis of pure simplicity. Wrap around the tree, put your hook or carabiner in the appropriate 'loop' and you are done. Set up time was all of maybe 1 minute. At most. However, I only have 1 tree, so the other end went around a swing set. Worked like a charm. If you have a hammock that does not have a built in suspension system (like a Hennessy), this is what to get. Tree straps and suspension lines built into one. They come with a little stuff sack as well.On Edit: Today on a Woot Off, got a Yukon Outfitters Double Hammock for $20 and immediately purchased a second set of these for it.

I decided to give thse a try a few months back, seeing as they are less expensive than the ENO straps. Although nothing more than high quality rope with knots and a tree protection cover, they are convenient for a quick hammock setup. Did I mention good quality? I have used these all throughout the year, and I see no signs of stretching or fatigue. The tree protectors could stand to be a little larger, but this isn't an issue on smaller trees. The stuff sack is convenient and sized correctly- I do not struggle to put the straps back in. Recommended!

I combine these with the Grand Trunk Nano Hammock and they made a great combo.
