ExtechTP200 Type K Pipe Clamp Temperature Probe

Works great! I will order another one when I break this one..Plastic does not last long in my hands...

I had to expend some extra few more bucks buying the Industrial Grade 4JPN2 Adapter, Type K, Mini Jack to Banana Plug, so it can works in my multi meter. It works so far no prbs, nice tool to have.

Low quality plastic handle and/or poorly constructed. Handles cracked after one day of use. On the second day of use handles had massive cracks. Third day everything went to the trash due to being unusable.

I bought this back in 2013 to use when checking super-heat/sub-cooling on my home AC unit. I used it once per year 2013,2014,2015. I went to use it this year and the handle snapped. So, I it hasn't been used excessively. I could see it breaking if I was a HVAC Mechanic and used it several times a day. While the handle did break and makes it almost useless, I did remove the wire and sensor. I now have to use a piece of Velcro to secure it to the piping. I would expect this to last more than 3 uses. You can see in the picture the plastic broke on the pivot of the handle. It does read accurate temperature.

Bought this product to check super heat and sub cool. The clamp wires was separated from the clamp before I had a chance to use it.

Broke within 1 week of use. Dont waste your money on this clamp probe. Save it for a good one.

After maybe 6 months, both plastic handles developed cracks from the heavy steel spring that they cover. the two pin connections are not held by any strain relief, nor are the wires insulated inside the connector, from each other. This might be worth $5.00, as a consumable expendable item, and that is all.
