I never thought a story about pigeons would have me so gripped!
Of course, this book is more than a story about pigeons. It is also about the meaning of “home” and how we settle, nostalgia, and homesickness. But the thread running all through the book is one 700km flight of racing pigeons from Thurso to London; and this story is truly gripping.Homing might be the best book I have read this year (and it’s October already).

Very enjoyable
A great read. Great insight into the mysterious world of pigeon racing. I have to admit I skipped some of the philosophical sections but only because I wanted to find out how the pigeons were getting on.

Really enjoyed this book
Lovely gentle book, already liked pigeons, now I love them!! Liked the comparison to homing pigeons to the need for people to 'home' and nest. An easy read

A must read book
This is one of the most interesting books i have read for a long time. A bird that is revered and reviled in equal measure.

A great story.
I loved this book. My dad kept racing pigeons for years. The book is a great mixture of the authors family life and the details of the pigeons.
