This book is such a great deal online as the cover price is $32. I found it a multiple boutiques for this price so the Amazon offer is a steal. My husband and I have made several meals from it already and love the how easy to follow the directions are and that every recipe is one I'd love to make. I would highly recommend this as a gift for a husband/dad/grandpa/boyfriend. It's written more for a guy with funny comments like "Before you start grilling first pop open a beer, turn on some tunes, and now you're ready" it also educates you on key cooking tools you should have in your kitchen. I absolutely LOVE this book. I love using apps for recipes but this beats them all.

I got my son this book for Christmas because he loves to cook & he’s a true Southern Gentleman. It’s filled with every category of recipes a guy needs to prepare a great meal from starters & cocktails to dessert. It’s got beautiful pictures and simple recipes and instructions. I’ve since made this a wedding gift for special couples and added another cookbook suited for the bride. It’s always a hit. Add some cooking tools with this cookbook and you’ve got a perfect birthday or Christmas gift for your Southern Gentleman.

Purchased the gift because the author was a friend of a friend. Honestly, couldn't be happier with the quality and content of this cookbook. The recipes are straightforward and manageable . . . even I can cook these dishes. The author doesn't try to over complicate Southern classics, but he still manages to put unique spins on certain dishes - like his stewed okra and tomatoes with curry - so good.I would highly recommend this book - photos for EVERY recipe. Tons of great stories and exciting characters. Overall - Matt just seems like a good guy that's always willing to buy you a beer and show you the way in the kitchen. Hoping there's a series of these books.

Born in Texas I appreciated this book and all the recipes. I especially loved what I call the "Texas" charcuterie board. Very clever idea for a BBQ theme cookout appetizer.

Matt has truly captured his southern roots and given us a glimpse of his history of family, friends and sharing food. I'm also impressed with the stories of other family traditions and the introduction of many places in the south that broaden my own recipe collection. The style of the author and the publisher makes cooking interesting, appealing and easy to master through the use of photography, simple ingredients and instructions, Gent's Tips, and compelling stories of the origin of each recipe. Every southern kitchen needs this book as a collection for everyday meals and entertaining around your table!

Ordered for one recipe, but enjoyed looking through for other inspiration. I ordered the use copy and it came quickly and was in great shape.Recycling at its finest

I listened to an interview with the author on the Art of Manliness podcast and was instantly sold. He delivers stories with good content. It arrived early too. I drive for Uber and the chefs tell me they love every page. This book goes the extra mile in more than one direction. They have a equipment section at the end of the book, and I would suggest a related page trying to sell me this stuff. Maybe a Amazon Fresh Uber Eats option creating content for Amazon Instant Video. Wish I could give this book a sixth star.

My goal this year is to be a better cook. A Southern Gentleman's Kitchen is a easy to follow cookbook that any guy can follow. The pictures are great and the ingredients are simple and delicious! This is the first cook book that didn't intimidate me, and gave the confidence that I can cook some amazing dishes that are impressive... without the fancy-smancy receipts that I would never attempt to make.I recommend this book for any man or woman! This book has helped build my confidence that I can be an awesome cook!
