The foam is sturdy and safe for kids to use it as a toy; much better than the plastic molded versions that are also out there. The foam also gives it a more realistic surface appearance than the plastic versions. It is sturdier than the foam swords kids play with.I used it for a "Fat Thor" adult costume, and even though it was not scaled to size, it worked great. I also wrapped an LED dog collar around it to make it look like it was emitting electricity (but really it was so my son could find me easily while trick or treating in a crowded neighborhood).One caveat. Stormbreaker is huge in the Avenger movies, especially compared to Thor's hammer. This one is scaled down in size a bit (perhaps 80-85% scale) , which makes it better for kids and fine even for my "Fat Thor" costume. (A full size Stormbreaker would have been too unweildy even for me, and I am big--even bigger than Chris Helmsworth, who plays Thor.) My 8-year old son also is going to use it as a toy now that Halloween is over, so the smaller size difference is a actually a plus for us. But the size difference should be noted so you are not surprised.

It looks shinny but it is made of foam and the paint job was horrible, after updating the paint and weather it, it looks good not 1:1 for an adult.

This item is ok.... It showed I would get in a short period of time, but after ordered, then showed over a month out after placing the order, kinda deceiving. The paint job is kinda poor, reminds me of kids not staying in the lines when painting. The key chain is very cool, but overall for cost, a little lower would feel better for what I got as the end product.

Love it, but no key chain in the package. 5 Stars other wise. Good wait for foam, and so much better than hollow plastic. Delivered much early than estimate with no problem.

Bought this to go with a Thor Halloween costume for my son, exactly what he wanted, he is six and it was a little big, but he lived it, felt like he was really holding Thor’s hammer lol. Let him play with it afterwards as it’s a soft foam, has held up for several months now.

1). Shipping time - advertised as 5-7 days (non-prime), OK. I ordered for Halloween, Oct 19. After the order was placed, I get a message that it will arrive Nov 3-10. It actually arrived today, Nov 13.2) As stated in other reviews (and description), it is styrofoam. I didn't have super-high expectations since it is a costume prop. But, WOW. Very cheaply made for the cost.Looks nice; just don't be rough with it.I DID get the cute keychain.

We bought this for Halloween and my 11 year old son plays with it all the time. It’s still in perfect condition. It’s a lot sturdier than I was expecting for the price and looks pretty real.

Was a big hit at a party I went to, I dressed as fat thor and was the talk of the party. Decided to get this as opposed to the smaller because I wanted it more accurate size and it wasn’t much more expensive. Highly recommend.
