Hi All,I bought Grow A Beard's original balm in a grab bag that came with a brush and comb for the beard as well.Initially I was put off by the brand name and thought the quality could be garbage but for the reasonable price it was worth it to find out. The comb and brush still hold up but the best part is definitely the balm.With most beard balms like this I usually find that the scent is too strong and the concoction too oily. Not the case with Grow A Beard's original balm. It has a lovely very subtle scent and while the balm is obvious when first applied, it quickly goes away as the day goes on. (I usually put it in when my hair is damp though so this could just be the hair drying that I'm observing.)Now that was the previous balm. The company reached out to me and asked to try their new cologne scent. I was happy with their previous product so I thought why not? The tin came and I was excited to try it.I find this new scent to be very superior to the previous balm I bought from them.The previous balm was very thick and sticky, that's not a problem per-se but it stays that way in the hair all day and beyond (good holding time, some people may want that). To to the point where I wash my hair before bed to not wake up with a sticky mess of hair or greased pillow.THIS balm is the bomb though. I love the sent more than the previous because it's more fragrant but not overpowering and still subtle. It's also way less sticky/thick than the previous one which I like because at the end of the day the residue is less and it's easier to wash off my hands after applying it. Even though it is less sticky/thick it still holds well for my needs (albeit it does hold less).Anyway this balm get a 5/5 from me and I will certainly be buying more in the future!All the best,Seth

I received this product at a discount to provide an honest review. I have been using this balm for about three weeks and it has worked very well for my purposes. I use several different beard products and primarily use this balm for sealing and hold. It has worked great for those purposes. It has provided great hold that remains soft and assists with controlling stray hairs. It helps to keep my beard soft and supple and has made me very happy. The scent is light and fresh with a soft sandalwood. I recommend this product.The new scent is clean and has a more cologne smell to it. The scent is light and not over-powering. I really like these balms and will continue to use them.

Edit 7/8/20: I have started using less of an application amount and it has drastically reduced the amount of green tint while still keeping my beard soft. Best advice is to start with a very small amount and work from that. I have added 2 extra stars due to that.Smells good and works as claimed. However, it completely tints my beard a yellowish green color. It does wash out, but there is no way I can leave the house after applying. Best if used at night.

First, I received the beard balm at a discount. I'm glad Grow A Beard regularly adds products to their lineup and asks for feedback. The quality of this product matches the original scent of their beard balm, which I love. Both varieties apply evenly, add sheen to your beard, and leave your facial hair feeling non-greasy. I use the back of my thumbnail to scrape out a dime/nickel size amount, work it in to my hands and apply to my beard. Then I finish with a boar hair beard brush.This beard balm has a modern, clean fragrance that is pleasing to my palate. The aroma is complimentary to the assortment of colognes that I currently wear, so I'm not bombarded with crazy scent overlap. My cologne rotation includes 3 Versace fragrances, Dolce & Gabana - The One, Chanel - Allure Homme Sport and a few others. It pairs nicely without being offensive. Your mileage may vary.

I have used multiple beard oils in the past and this one is up their with my favorites. The scent is great. Like others have said it is just right and not too overpowering. It also doesn't make me smell like essential oils all day which is a plus compared to other products.Although a little different in consistency, I would put this product up there with honest Amish in quality. As for the color, it was weird at first, but if you take time to rub it between your fingers the color dissipates into a thinner oil. The blue mask I wear all day at work does turn green wherever my beard rubs on it, but on a dark beard it is not visible.Would recommend to others looking to try something new!

I'm basically a beard newbie, 42 years old and only the second time I've been able to grow a beard! The first time (2 years ago) I just let everything go, straight homeless style. This time I am trimming, brushing, and trying "products" to maintain a cleaner look.So I haven't really noticed any difference since using the balm. When you first use it the beard is easier to shape and it has a slight sheen to it. Within a few minutes the sheen is gone and the shape is no longer as tight. Throughout the day I do not have any idea that I used the balm, unless I apply it again. I don't feel like my beard is any softer, neither does my wife and kids. I like the scent, it leans to a citrus scent. It is packaged in a nice screw-top tin that is easy to use. The consistency of the balm is a little softer than a lip balm and it does spread easy across my beard. I don't have anything negative to say about it per se, I just don't notice anything positive enough to justify paying for and wasting time applying it.I will use it to the end and see if it does more for me. Assuming I still have a beard by the time I finish this one, I'll try a different brand and see if there are any differences.
