Makes quick work of picture frame assembly
While I do not normally build picture frames, I did a project recently where I had to replace a lot of damaged frames and this gun worked GREAT! I remodel hotels for a living, and on a recent project my guys had taken the artwork that was to be reused in each room and placed them in each rooms tub. Along comes the plumber replacing tub valves, and each time they cut out the old valve it would drain into the tub and get the picture frames wet (of course they didn't think to point out what was happening, they just marched along doing room after room). The frames were MDF with a foil type wrapper that gave the finish. The MDF did what MDF does best and greedily soaked up all of the water it could, ruining the frames. I looked online and matching frame material as well as this gun. With not much effort, we were able to repair all of the damaged art and the property owner was none the wiser. I don't expect to need this tool much in the future (I am hoping to have learned my lesson), but if I do, I know it will get the job done and get it done fast!

Solid and well made
This is a great tool if you're making your own frames. It is also handy for making cabinetry face frames. Now that I have it, I find a lot of uses for it. Solidly made and works very well. Highly recommended.

Great for picture frames
Most of my time in the wood shop is spent building furniture, but I occasionally like to build custom picture frames. I have been looking for a quick, reliable method to make suitable miter joints and this nailer is the answer I was looking for. Professional framing shops use a similar nailer that is mounted upside down in a machine that can be air powered like this nailer, or manually powered with a foot pedal. Those machines cost $1000 and up. This nailer allows you to join miters as quickly and easily with professional results every time. I actually prefer to nail from the top as it keeps glue from dripping through the miter and on to the nailer, but if you wish to do it from the bottom they make a frame that the nailer bolts into for this purpose (Woodtek frame support 160-490 retails for $159.99). I have found that the Jevons 3D squares are an easy way to hold the miters at a perfect 90 degree angle for nailing. All in all a great little tool.

nice looking seam
Have not used it a lot. I did build one frame and it worked well. It is the way to put frames together quickly, the v-nail draws the miter together, nice looking seam. Well that bing said I think it is over priced but could not find another at any price. The v-nails are really expensive but again it is what I needed. So I would say in closing is I expect this nail gun to stand up to a lot of use in the years to come for what I paid for it. Will post again after I have a run of frames to build.

Good Choice for Low Volume Framer
Initial impression is the Woodtek is a good picture frame nailer. Lightweight and easy to handle. In the few frames I have assembled so far, all fasteners were driven flush. Experience to date is with soft wood and MDF. Have not tried the nailer on a hard wood like oak. A shortcoming is the lack of a definitive specification on the v-nail used with this nailer. It is not clear if they are common v-nails or unique to Woodtek.
