Every household should have 1 or 2 of these
Very well made and compact water filter. This is a great addition to my bugout/emergency kit.

These things are great
Water straight from the lake was the most delicious water I've ever had after going through this

It’s probably fine
I am willing to bet that somewhere between 99% and 99.999% of these things don’t get used… ever. I am no exception to that rule. I have access to bottled water, like everyone else in the civilized world. If I ever find myself in need of my zombie apocalypse bag though, I’ll have the means to have fine filtered water. …Probably.

dimensions and weights here
***NOTE: I haven't used the unit yet, don't base your purchase on this review, it is for reference measurements on the units branded under the names Survimate, Purewell and joypur. The base unit is the same as those listed above with the differences in pre-filter choice being most obvious. The internal glass tube and charcoal filter is universal between the three branded filters. The tubes came with 2 clear o-rings of the type used in the construction of the thing and the bag with 1 single clear o-ring holding it folded together tight. The O-rings attached to the end of the handle that go inside the unit came pre-greased though I can't tell what sort of grease. Grease has no smell and is clear, makes me think it might be mineral oil.The foam parts that get toted as anti-skid feel cheaply glue in place though the edges are tight to the body of the unit and are not lifting at all. The foam itself feels like a thin, solid bit of anti-skid foam used in drawers. The inlet and outlet ports on the unit themselves are recessed but if they took a hit the right way would snap. The inlet port is protected by the cup. The cup itself has no markings to indicate plastic type but doesn't feel particularly strong. The cup is clear and holds about 6 ounces of liquid, it flexes thumb and forefinger pressure in the middle. The internal unit with two differing sized cylinders is ultrasonically welded at the base and leads me to believe that it would work to uptake liquid if submerged 1/4 the way into the water from the bottom in the event the intake (dirty water in) port gets damaged. The outlet port (clean water out) is more recessed and protected by the clear cup on top.The handle shaft is solid and under light, not trying to break my handle but want to make sure it's going to last, bending didn't flex at all, though I did note some stresses happening at the handle meets shaft junction. The first pull of the handle (dry test upon receiving) was stiff. Not wanting to break the unit I was gentle and twisted the handle around a couple times which freed it up.In preliminary conclusion, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm happy to have an emergency water filter but I'm not entirely convinced this one will last an entire lifetime outside of being put in a kit and forgotten about. I don't think I would leave this in my car all year.Weights:----------The weight of the entire box as received, including unit w/ clear cup, tubes, filter, floats, two pre-filters and shipping box = 425 grams (minus the packing materials sent around the inner box but including the inner most box shipped)A new filter inside bag inside of box (purchased separately but designed for this item) = 40 gramsFilter unit with clear cup = 250 gramsFilter unit with clear cup, one pre-filter, tubes, clip and floats = 318 gramsA pre-filter alone (white, round, pneumatic tube fitting at the top with short white tube attached) = 22 gramsDimensions (not exact, rounded up to nearest CM)--------------Inner box, minus packing materials = 22 CM x 14 CM x 6 CMFilter unit body with clear cup on top = 17 CM x 9 CM x 5 CMTubes, wrapped up with clear O-rings holding them together = 20 CM x 4 CM x 3 CMPre-filter = 11 CM x 4CM x 4 CMBag by itself is large enough to fit the unit inside, unfolded flat measurements = 20 CM x 22CM x about twice as thick as a Crown Royal sack with a stiff feeling to it, not particularly soft outside, almost a fuzzy foam feeling. Has draw string but no string holding mechanism.Search tags, please ignore: weight, measurement, gram, heavy, light, mass, backpacking, ultralight, ounce, oz, dimension, packing weight, pack weight.

Haven’t used yet. Very compact fits nice in backpack
A**
Better for groups than solo bugout.
Works good. A little cumbersome. Better for a planned adventure vs bug out.
