As others have notes within the review section, the polarity is flipped (Black is Red, Red is Black) in the way they wired it to the plug. The “female” part of an SAE is always the Positive, and the “Male” the Negative—with this product just check to make sure your wire colors aren’t flipped to the reserve. Alternatively, you “can” pick up an SAE adapter to reverse polarity, but that’s… lazy, and can lead to issues down the road—especially if said adapter isn’t attached when it needs to be.I completely wired my truck all the way to the bed, and thankfully left enough slack to modify it if I ever needed to. I tested the leads at every point and when I attached the SAE connector I never thought to check the polarity.Just save yourself some time and make sure it’s setup correctly.Other than that, it’s well made, and had plenty of cable (which I trimmed) for most under hood tasks.(Pictured: Modified plug; the red wire should have been black, and the black should have been red)

Used a 7/8" spade bit to cut the hole in the plastic. Some people have said their was wired backwards, but mine was correct. Red was positive on battery, black negative. The pigtail on the port is a decent length, though a tad stiff. The cover is great for keeping it clean in the rain. Really happy with how it looks.

With the charging setup on my motorcycle and using a Schumaker float charger, i had to use the black wire for positive and the red for the negative to the battery. Just check the polarity when installing this unit. Other than that, very simple and yet looks durable.

This is good wiring and a good connection. However it should have been provided with stainless screws instead of the steel ones. Mine is mounted outside so I installed stainless.

Perfect for my RV macerator. Now I don’t have to haul a heavy battery out every time I need to use it.

Just wish the pos and neg wires were more clearly marked, like one black the other gray or red. I'm hoping this is 100% copper and not aluminium.

I would have given it 5 stars but it shipped with the wrong screws. The appropriate screws for the mounting holes are # 8 pan head, not flat head AND they should be stainless. Even slicker would be black anodized pan heads. Besides that, the quality seems to be good but well see how long the cover will remain on.

The SAE connector appears undersized when mating with other SAE connectors. You can make them work by spreading the contacts with a small screwdriver.
