Very helpful tool for quilting! Since I have an ironing board I wasn’t sure that I needed this but it works great with my small iron. The quilting Fabric stays in place while pressing and the wool fabric improves the quality of my results! The pad smells mildly of wool, tiny threads cleaned up nicely with a lint roller. This tool makes the chore of pressing fabric more enjoyable! A worthy investment

What I like is the size, thickness and density. This is the first time I have tried one of these mats. I did extensive research on wool ironing pads and I had 2 major concerns about ordering one. First concern, thickness and maintaining a flat surface. I give an “A”. The mat is very solid with the compression of the wool. There are two layers of wool pads pressed together to form firm and squared-off edges. Second, smell. I followed recommendations to condition the mat before use. This was the only time I had a very mild smell of wet wool. After conditioning I have not had a return of the smell. I debated about what size to get. I would strongly recommend getting the larger size. My main use is sewing clothing, quilts and textile art. Delivery was quick and packed very well. I am happy to admit that I have no negatives. A wish to the manufacturer would be to make an extra large size for textile/quilter artisans.

I am very pleased with my 17 x 17 wool pressing mat. The size is great for pressing out an entire block when completed and also for pressing multiple small pieces. People have commented that the wool mat smells but if you have any experience with wool, you know that it has an earthy odor when it gets wet… Even a wool handmade sweater, when it gets wet, has an odor. I do not find the odor offensive and it wasn’t strong enough to bothered me.I had wanted a pressing mat for a while and did my research. This one meets all my needs and it is a joy to use. No problem getting flat blocks now. Great mat for the value. I have the mat on a small wooden table with beach towels underneath to catch any type of moisture that might come through the mat.

I LOVE THIS MAT! I wanted a wool pressing mat since they first came out and finally got one. I watched a lot of videos on them and they looked almost too good to be true. But this mat is fantastic! I did my own test on it. I took a piece of cotton quilting fabric and wadded it up in my hand as tight as I could, laid it on the mat, quickly pressed it and it was perfectly flat. Then I repeated this process and ironed the fabric on my regular ironing board and could not get the wrinkles out (I used a dry iron both times). Then I took the fabric back to the wool mat, quickly pressed it and it was perfectly flat again. I also pressed in a fold and it was very sharp and perfect. This mat is literally like magic. I highly recommend this wool pressing mat to anyone who quilts. It’s going to save me so much pressing time and effort when I quilt. I love it!

I won one of these in a quilting giveaway and was so excited to give it a try. This is the first wool pressing mat I have used and I really love it! I don’t have a dedicated room for quilting. My “studio” also doubles as a play room. Because of this, I didn’t like keeping an ironing board set up. I used a tabletop board for a while, but I would end up having to move it aside every time I needed to trim or cut more fabric. This is perfect. It fits on the same table as my cutting mat and can easily be set aside when needed.It also seems to reduce my ironing time. I read later that the wool retains heat so allows for faster pressing. It must, because a few quick passes and my fabric is crisp and ready for cutting.Happy with the size and happy with the product. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a space saving option. It’s so much easier to press every seam now when the mat is right there.

On its own, a small mat for limited projects. Falls a little short because too thick to fold for true portability, if that be your intention. I had thought of using it like that for travel. Nevertheless quite sturdy and practical.

I have been wanting a wool pressing mat since I first heard about them and was thrilled to receive this one as part of a promotion. This mat is firm and thick and has lovely rounded corners. The wool is a very nice texture to the touch. I have a very small sewing space and love how versatile the 13x13 size is because I can easily move it around as I need to reorganize the space. Also, it fits on my full size ironing board so I can use it there when I want to. I have only had it for a couple of weeks but it definitely seems to be high quality and I expect to get years of happy use out of it.

Once in awhile I find something that makes me wonder how I did without it. This wool ironing mat is one of them. My sewing/quilting room is small, and this mat makes it possible for me to eliminate putting up my ironing board and taking it down every time I sew. Plus, the ironing itself produces a much better result than an ironing board. The mat has “give” and all over warmth so that seams come out crisp without the heavily ironed look. I have even used it for some regular, non-sewing ironing and love the results for that, too. The mat is an all-around great product—and a necessary one for those who sew.

I finally gave in and purchased the wool ironing mat. Now I'm asking myself why didn't I do it sooner. This is a game changer! Couldn't be more impressed!

I chose to buy this one because of the size, it isn’t as solid as some others but it doesn’t make much difference, it’s still recommended.
