Leader Checkering Tool Set, Model LE18

These seem like well-made tools! My kit contained four cutters, each with it's own handle. It comes with 3 straight handles and one "see through" handle, which is really just a straight handle with a gentle bend in it so that you can see the trailing edge of your cut.The kit came with one "file type" 90 degree cutter which cuts on the pull stroke, one two-direction 90 degree cutter, and two double-line 90 degree cutters(26 lpi).This kit said that it would come with an 18 lpi cutter, when really it came with the two 26 lpi cutters. Kind of a suprise, but I wanted finer checkering anyways, so that's an ok suprise to me. One of the double-line cutters seems to have some burrs in the middle "valley" between the two rows of teeth, which would ruin the peaks of your checkering unless you took some jewelers files and cleaned up the burrs beforehand.The kit also comes with a clear plastic straightedge, with printed lpi gauges from 16 lpi to 30 lpi.All in all, definitely a good value for the money and I cant wait to get started.

I am Canadian and the comparable set on Amazon.ca was $357 which is crazy. Even with shipping and $ exchange I still ended up $200 less than if I bought it from the .ca site. Looking forward to doing some checkering.

Was short two tools I needed. I should have checked more closely before I ordered. Used the tools I received and they worked very well.

Bought it for my son for Christmas. Just showed me his first practice piece. Must be the tools. He's not that talented!

Not for me, dull after little use. Maybe someone can make these work but not good enough to finish one project.

The set looked nice but one of the cutting heads was cracked in half. Looked like the roll pin that holds it in place was forced in a little to hard mushrooming it and cracking the cutting head. Haven't got to use them yet due to returning the set for a replacement.
