Custer's Fall: The Native American Side of the Story

Food for thought. Seems there is more to the story than what we were taught in school.
To the victor goes the spoils and they get to write the history. Custer wasn't a hero. He was a narcissistic genocidal maniac with no respect for human life. He got what he was after. This book is no less believable than the version we were taught in school. This narrative needs to be adjusted for the USA to continue to claim to be the greatest nation on earth. This isn't the only area of US history embellished with a false narrative.

Custer's Fall - Native American Side Of Story
Battle of Little Big Horn using accounts from authentic Native American sources. The story of the battle is usually based on non Native sources, so it is not an accurate picture of events and usually biased against the Native Americans. This book uses stories from different Native sources so information is as accurate as possible without the later spin control used to justify Custer's actions. Unfortunately, the book lacks narrative flow so it seems a bit cut and paste and hard to follow. This information is very important for anyone who wants a more balanced view of the battle and the devastating repercussions for both Native Americans and the US Government. The battle was a tactical victory but a strategic defeat for the Native Americans. Many soldiers were poor dispossessed Irish men used by rich white men to steal land and gold from the Native Americans. As a former soldier, I respect the honor and sacrifice of the Native Americans and Cavalry Troopers. An American tragedy.

Awesome Book!
Was watching a documentary and they mentioned this book. It is a must read if you truly want to know what happened at the Battle of Big Horn. Not sure where the inflated history we are taught came from since everyone with Custard was killed. The Native Americans were actually interviewed for this book and it was written on their interviews. Great book, that I will definitely hand down to my grandchildren

David Humphries Miller's Custer's Fall & Ghost Dance are authentic literary masterpieces of the Tetons & their way of life.
Already wrote my review for you a few months back. Most authentic culturally correct documentation of Tetons in history.Should be in every school as required reading. My Family contributed to both of Miller's books, Custer's Fall & Ghost Dance.Joseph White Bull who shot Custer, in my Ancestors Matriarchal linage.White Bull was the son of Makes Room Sr & Mary Good Elk Woman, Sitting Bull's Sister,Who later married Fredrick Dupuis & with their children, & Makes Room JR, whom Fred adoptedwhen he married Mary, went on to save the last of the BUFFALO from extinction. They did so to preserve the Legacy of the Calf Pipe/Pte Hincala Cannunpa Kin, &enable the return of White BUFFALO Calf Pipe Woman's return to the Tetons asShe said she would, though She has visited the Tetons in each generation to seeif they continue to follow Her teachings via From Creator as instructed. My experience is few Tetons today know the real story of WBCP Woman coming,& Miller's two books should be in every Teton home so each future generation wouldknow our true history, culture & spirituality. It, the Calf Pipe & It's teachings, is not to be abused, exploited, in any way....many willbe learning that lesson the hard way, for the Calf Pipe & Teachings are for all mankind, regardless, of race, color, creed, gender or blood quantum for those faithful, no lying, cheating, stealing, embellishments, or blood of the innocent upon them.
