They ain't what they used to be
Seems that ALL brands of briefs have gone down hill in quality over the years. So did BVD, but, in the last year. I have bought every brand I could think of and have rated them all here on Amazon. The WORST were Hanes because the elastic around the waste disintegrates after only a few washings. Calvin Klein REALLY cheapened their product. Jockey are a JOKE. These are just OK. After spending mucho dinero on the name brands and less money of these cheaper brands, they ALL went downhill except for one. To my surprise, Fruit of the Loom ended up being the best briefs out there. Are they great? NO, but they ARE the best of all the brands. I am NOT exaggerating when I tell you that I've tried briefs in every price range over the last year to replace the now pathetic Hanes and Calvin Klein, and Fruit of the Loom end up being the best AND THEY'RE CHEAP! Who woulda thunk? I'd say that these BVDs, in spite of cheapening their product are OK and I would only buy them again if I couldn't get Fruit of the Loom. I would NOT buy the other brands mentioned EVER.

The best overall
I wanted to replace my Gildan A-shirts, which I liked a lot. I had purchased them at Wal-Mart about six years ago, unfortunately they have replaced them with a brand called George. So here's the journey I went on to replace them; I purchased 7 different Brands.-Gildan (here on Amazon)-Hanes-Fruit of the Loom-George-Van Heusen-Pro 5-BVDI returned all of them but one - BVD(I am 5'9", 180 lbs, with a muscular build)The Gildan's I purchased on Amazon had lost the quality of the previous ones I had owned, they were paper thin and sized incorrectly (too small). The Hanes, the George, and the Fruit of the Loom were just as disappointing. The Van Heusen had a thicker material than the previous 4, but didn't really have a stretchy feel to the material, they were somewhat loose even right out of the package. In addition they are short, which probably means they are meant to be used as outerwear rather then tucked in as an undershirt (although I do use mine as outerwear, these were too loose). Now the Pro 5 were really the thickest, but they are extremely long in the 2XL, which is what I needed to buy to fit me around my chest and torso, but I had to return them because there are way too long (I guess these would be ideal for someone tall, maybe 6' or taller). The BVD had the best of all of them: they were stretchy, they are the 2nd thickest, and have just about the best length to either tuck or wear as outerwear (and their six pack happens to be the best value as well, $3.50 per shirt). I know this review is gonna help you eliminate the frustration of buying shirt, after shirt, after shirt, to find the best one.

Don't think these are like the old ones...
I have long favored BVD briefs. This purchase was made to replace some years-old BVD's that have been washed hundreds of times. The reason that I preferred them was the heavier-than-average fabric, the much wider crotch (guys aren't built like women), and the mid-rise. When I took the new ones out of the package to launder them before wearing, I knew that I had made a mistake. The material was significantly lighter, was a cotton-polyester blend (90%/10%) and the crotch was no wider than the Hanes Premium that I wear, also. The fit, as noted in other reviews, was smaller than the description notes. Rather than the "medium" fitting up to 36", the range on the package went up to only 34". As a result, I got a tighter waistband fit than I wanted. Putting them beside the Hanes Premium (available at Target), they were cut exactly the same in the leg holes and crotch; only the rise was different. Since Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, and BVD are all made by the same company now, the BVD brand has been taken down greatly, quality-wise, to be no better than the competitive brands. That is disappointing. I am certain that consumers would pay a bit more to get quality like the BVD's of old. As for me, I am done with the brand. The picture shows the new BVD brief on the left - the old BVD on the right...

This is a fantastic price for 6 pairs (with a few issues)
This is a fantastic price for 6 pairs of 100% cotton boxers but there are a few issues. They're a little smaller than other brands of the same size. The hole in the middle is placed in an awkward spot making quick trips to the restroom a bit more time consuming. Because the placement of the hole is higher than other boxers, you have to pull the boxers down (like you're ready to remove them) in order to go to the bathroom. The print is very classy.I'd say the best part is that these are a lightweight, *very breathable* fabric. One hundred percent cotton boxers are very difficult to find for men these days in the big box stores. This is ridiculous because why anyone would want to wear polyester undergarments is unfathomable. Fermenting sweat is not attractive.Fancier men's clothiers, such as Brooks Brothers, sell 100% cotton boxers but for the price, they should have gold dust sprinkled in the fabric.Overall, these really are very nice. I personally think we may need to go two sizes above the size chart.I would surely buy these again.

Satisfactory with caveats
After 4 washings, my observations are:Shrinkage-noneColorfastness-goodFit- somewhat tight. Made in Vietnam for the slender Asian build. My 32-34 is closer to 32Material- coarse cotton. Not softTailoring-goodFly-small with a button. Awkward to use. Button not needed unless you have a Ron Jeremy JohnsonElastic band-tight, not losing elasticityPattern- Tartan plaids acceptable.

Great comfortable briefs
Very well made, very comfortable, good thick material.

Ok briefs
Certainly not as good as Hanes or Fruit of Loom, as the leg opening goes saggy after a couple of washes. Reasonable value.

A bit repetitive, a bit small
Title says 6 boxers, picture shows 6 different boxers, what I got is 2 grouped sets of the same 3 boxers. It's possible that they have different trios and I was simply unfortunate enough to get the same trio twice, but I really would have preferred 6 DIFFERENT boxers, as pictured. I made the decision to purchase based on it looking like it would be different boxers. Also for an Amazon-served product, it took 6 days (4 not counting the weekend), lately I've been getting things that are from Amazon in under 48 hours (not counting weekends). Got XL, they're a little smaller than I usually experience in XL boxers, but usable. Fine otherwise.

Perfect for Summer
What I expected. I got two sets of the same colour pattern tartans. Not a big deal as I like the green and red ones the best anyway. People mentioned that they're thin. Yes, they're thin. It's summer and it's exactly what I wanted. Feels so good this in this humid weather. I find them very comfortable and you really can't go wrong with the price. I'm a 32" and I bought medium. Fits perfectly
