Been brewing Melitta decaf for years. This brew's aroma gives me a good wakeup appetite for breakfast and the coffee taste wakes me up. Bad news: Our Shop Rite apparently does not stock Melitta Decaf. Good news: It is easy to order on line. Bad news: I drink a lot of coffee and run out grounds quickly. Good news: Coffee orders from amazon is fast. Bad news: The peeling of the seal on a new can of Melitta can be difficult, especially first thing in the AM. But what I enjoy is the aroma coming from a freshly opened can of Melitta.

This review is for Melitta Classic Decaf in a 10.5 oz can. I hadn't come across this for a long time and wanted to compare it to the Gevalia Decaf I've been drinking recently. I noticed in a review above someone said their "cans" were foil line cardboard. The four cans I received are all real cans, not foil lined cardboard.As far as the taste comparison went, for Me, I think I slightly prefer the other brand, I just have to decide if the price difference is worth the flavor difference.

Being forbidden by several brands of Doctor to have any caffeine, I decided to try Melitta. The price is reasonable and Amazon makes it easy to procure. I am glad I tried it. It is not regular coffee, but it comes the closest to the taste of caffeinated coffee that I have tried. It is rich and full bodied thanks to the fine grind and I am delighted to have a decaf that is so enjoyable.

Breakfast

Really. It doesn't get any tastier than this. I am highly sensitive to caffeine, so I have never been a coffee drinker. Decaf...what's the point? But my mind is changed! My husband is a coffeeholic, and he wanted a decaf for nighttime drinking. We have tried the standard Folgers, Starbucks, store brand, Maxwell House, etc. Again, not worth the money or time. What's the point of icky decaf? Well, my friend, life just got a purpose. This coffee exceeds the super-expensive gourmet junk in taste, strength, smell...yeah. Everything that makes coffee good, this coffee surpasses excellence. Try it. It's the one that will change your mind about decaf forever.
