Music to My Ears: Nordic Essentials Aluminum Universal Guitar Capo (2-pack)
I tried the Nordic Essential aircraft aluminum capos on a Baritone Uke, Tenor Uke, Gibson electrics, Fender electrics,a 1970 Baldwin Burns electric, a circa 1960 Kay Flattop, a Taylor Mini and a Wechter Resonator. Having a variety ofstringed instruments provided me a chance to see how they would perform with the new capo. I tried the capos on 13stringed instruments so they got a good workout by playing songs, bending leads, sweeps, flat picking, strumming, and the like, all at different frets. All the instruments are either 6 or 4 string. The capo performed well, from a 1-1/4 inch nut width tenor ukulele to a 1-3/4 inch nut width resonator, and everythingelse in-between. The electrics are set up with nickel 9s and the action is low. On the acoustics the action is a bit higher, especially on the Reso. I use Phosphor Bronze 11s & 12s on the 2 acoustics and 13s on the Reso. On the two Ukes Iam using Aquila New Nylgut strings that have metal strings on the third and fourth. The capo feels very strong and clamps down on the strings with a firm force. The silicone pad works very well on all theinstruments I played no matter what strings, neck or fret I used. I moved the capo up and down playable frets of eachinstrument and found no issues; no buzzing, no dead strings; the strings rang out at all playable frets. Best of all I didnot have to re-tune the instrument every time the capo was moved. Nice.It is important that the capo be placed correctly on the fret board or there will be buzzes, sour or dead strings. In mostcases the capo should go right behind the fret. Some stringed instruments may require the capo be placed somewherein between the frets. Basically you have to experiment a bit to find how well your stringed instrument will receive this orany capo and still be in tune. Musicians can have their stringed instruments set up differently and fret height and widthcould have some affect as well.If you can still get the 2 Pack deal, get it. Even if you don’t have more than one stringed instrument it’s worth it. The capocomes with a handy dandy carrying black pouch. Great deal. Great capos for the price point.5 Stars for the Nordic Essential Aluminum Universal Capo and, yes, I have another order in now. The capos are made inChina.

Aesthetically pleasing and functional but with critical design flaw.
I really liked this capo. It looked good, worked well. The aluminum design made me think it was well designed and manufactured, yet the piece that takes the most stress and pressure is plastic and cleverly covered by a sticker! The reason I bought this 2-fer was because I keep my electrics downstairs with the big amp and the acoustic in the great room area upstairs for casual playing.I would probably utilize the capo twice a month at best, so not often. Last time I went to use it was when I noticed the structural failure. These were procured in September of 2018, so with very little, casual use, it lasted 22 months.I suppose the flipside is I have a spare in the basement that has received even less use but the whole reason I didn't get a higher grade capo was due to the fact that I needed 2 and knew I wasn't going to use them much.It was wrongly assumed these would last a long time with the amount of use I put on them. Now, I'll end up sinking even more money in buying 2 new capo's from a more reputable manufacturer when the other one inevitably self destructs. So it's frustrating. If they upgraded that one piece to steel or aluminum I would probably buy this brand again. But as it is now, I do not and can not recommend this capo, which is a shame, as I really did like it.

Finally, something that works like it says it would! Professionals making products for professionals.
Sorry it took so long to review your capo. I wanted to take it for several test runs including live gigs. I've been playing for over 40 years. These capos are awesome. I've tried many other brands, styles, and materials. Your's by far are better than the ones costing 5 times as much. The fret pad, spring action, and neck curve clamp looks like a lot of thought and science went into it. There were no strings left floating on my electric, acoustic, and classic guitars. I have 3 different neck radiuses. It was truly versatile. It was easy to use, and placement caused absolutely no damage to my guitars. The soft bag and box it comes in make for a great present for someone. Which means I'll be purchasing more. The only improvement I can suggest is finding a way to put an anti-theft device built in it. It almost walked away twice.

The Capos That Iron Man Will Most Likely Use
I got the red and gold capos. The 2-pack capos came in well packaged. Each capo is housed inside a purse-string bag and a box. So, essentially they were bagged and double-box. High marks already for the packaging. They are super light-weight. And easy to put on and move up and down my guitar's neck. The design is nothing new. You've seen them before. But, I prefer this clamping design over a brand whose name I will not mention. Although they are super expensive I still bought 2 of those because they were really pretty to look at and I thought I will like them. I did not. The clamping design just did not work for me. They hurt my fretting hand. So, I never got to use them. But, these 2 capos by Nordic Essentials are true examples of form and function done right. The design is similar to the ones I currently use by Planet Waves. But, a lot lighter and more affordable. The GOLD one went to my 6-string Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RCCE with a V-neck and wider nut as it complements its Natural 'Gloss' Finish and gold hardware. The RED one went to my 6-string Epiphone Masterbilt AJ-45ME with a Slim Taper D profile neck as I thought it complements its Vintage Sunburst 'Gloss' Finish. I mentioned my guitars' neck profile because both capos worked perfectly even with the difference in neck profile, width and radii. As one reviewer has mentioned, the red capo as pictured here is different. It is much nicer in person. These color combination reminds me of IRON MAN. I will definitely buy more of these. All the available colors. The Fuchsia and Purple will go to my daughter.

Well made, good value.
I purchased these after breaking the spring on my previous (well known brand) capo that I had owned for around ten years. I made the decision to try these as the pack of two was around the same price as a single item from the previous brand and as I own several guitars it is useful to have more than one capo. They are well presented in a cloth bag inside the box and appear to be well made and robust. On one of them the padding was coming away from the rear clamp and will require some glue to reattach it.In use they work well and exert a firm and even pressure with no tendency to pull the guitar out of tune. My guitars are all fitted with medium gauge strings so I cannot comment on how they would perform on an instrument with large frets and very light gauge strings.I like this type of capo for its quickness and convenience. It can be clamped to the headstock when not in use.If it had not been for the padding issue I would have given five stars.

good value, but...
Pros- well made. Feel like they will last a good while- looks good- firm grip- reasonable value (and you get two of them)Cons- quite bulky. They stick out further than I thought though they don't get in your way when playing- awkward to fit. I found it difficult to use as you'd expect (think holding a gun) instead you have to squeeze the end of the arms between your thumb and index finger, not a real problem for me but my wife (who these were for) has arthritis and finds it difficult to apply pressure like that.- pulls on strings. Careful placement is required otherwise as you release the arms the capo has a tendency to pull the strings towards its joint. Twice now it has pulled the closest string off the side of the neck. Not the end of the world but it's another faff i'd rather not worry about.Even taking into consideration the cons I would still recommend these capo as they are sturdy and good value and ultimately do what a capo is supposed to do.

Not tight enough on my Taylor
This product is below average sorry to say. I’ve had loads of capos and loved the concept of having pink and purple ones. The strings go out of tune when I place it on and rattle a bit which would indicate it’s not tight enough. I have a brand new top class Taylor Guitar so I’ve now had to order another capo to match the quality of the guitar. It’s ok for fun but I’d never use it in a gig and the strings don’t ring out cleanly for solos - it’d be fine for a laugh round a fireplace in a campsite :) beautiful colours tho and quick delivery. No issues there at all

Great slimline capo for electric guitars
There are just a few tunes that require a capo, 'Run To You' by Bryan Adams being one of them. Being a purist, I was reluctant to buy one of these capos but when I saw the beautifully designed, smooth aluminium slim shape and strong spring, I knew his was a well-made piece of kit. Dense rubber pads protect the neck while a slim bar presses the strings to a new 'nut' position - which can be adjusted to give more fretting room without buzz. All this and a lifetime guarantee. You won't be disappointed, except, perhaps, in my rendition of 'Run To You'.
