I'm impressed so far
Starts really easy. It will idle really l without stalling, even when you put it in gear. Nice and quiet at idle. Water pump is really good. I pressure tested the gearbox and it had no leaks. I haven't needed to make any carb adjustments out of the box. One thing I would suggest is ziptying the linkage near the flywheel that's for safety. I keeps it from starting in gear I think? It likes to pop out of it's socket. I carry this motor in my 20' boat as an emergency backup. It weighs less than a deep cycle battery. I weight it on a hanging scale and it weighed 45.5lbs. That was with gear lube and some fuel.

You get what you pay for.
Great motor once it’s primed. A little noisy, and a lot of vibrations. 20 hours on it so far on my 12ft v haul Jon boat, it goes about 12 mph with me alone and tops at 7mph with two adults on it. I would recommend if y’all upgrading from a trolling motor!

Wont stay running, instructions can not be followed as written.
Bought this brand new because I didn't want to deal with old motor issues. The instructions say run at 1000 rpm (no rpm indicator) within 10 minutes. Then in hanging forward gear (what? where is that?) throttle 25% for 50 minutes. Then throttle 50%, speed varies, (well which, 50 % or varied?) for 2 hours. Then 80%, speed varies (again, which?) for 3 hours. Then any speed for 2 hours. Operation at full throttle shall not exceed 5 minutes. It won't even stay running for 10 minutes, far less any of the other times listed. Total waste of money.

Great outboard motor
It is a great outboard motor if you do the proper break in period. Its not a Mercury, but it is a great motor. Remember to check the lower unit oil and the first 10 hours do 25:1 fuel mix ratio. Use a fuel stabilizer to protect the motor from ethanol in the gas. Use 91 octane gasoline.

Follow the break in procedure. So far it's been a good little motor for the jon boat
Still in the break in procedure, but so far so good. Difficult to start when engine is cold, but starts easily all day after running.

It's a good motor for the price.
It runs a little rough I think it should be better tuned from the factory but that could be the gas. And it should come with the external gas tank connector . That's really cheaping out not including that.

This motor fit perfect on my kids 16 foot dingy! It’s very dependable and sleek looking! Two thumbs up!
