I needed something that would allow my dog to play on the front lawn but not wander off. Before we got these she ran over to say hello to another neighborhood dog before I could catch her and she was severely injured (attacked). This is easy to put into the ground and she can roam around but not further than the sidewalk. I can sit outside with her or do yard work and not have to keep chasing her. Maddie is 15 pounds and I got the medium to large product and it's just right. I feel better about her safety with it and recommend it for dogs her size -- I can't speak to other sized dogs. Just be careful if you have your dog on a harness. Maddie is like Houdini and one time she somehow use it to pull her harness off over her head.

I’ve had this runner a few weeks. Used it twice. Moved it today and while putting it into the ground the spike broke! Literally snapped in my hands... I’m a little 5’7 female... I didn’t she hulk it apart... this is ridiculous

A bit larger than I expected but works fine. My dog weighs 20 lbs. It keeps him in the area I want him in and is very strong.

I bought this tie down on March 2, 2020 and received it the following day. It broke this past monday (July 20, 2020.) So it lasted for less than 4 months. Our puppy is only six months old and about 40lbs. There is no way this tie down would work for a 120lb dog like they claim.The lead snapped right below the clasp that holds it to the tie down. It appears that my dog tugging one way and another did it in.Even without the broken lead, the tie-down was never able to keep my puppy in for long. She would pull the screw out of the ground within 2-3 days. I would then need to find another place in the lawn to screw it into.I have bought a longer stake and a cable that claims it will hold a 250lb dog. Hopefully they are sufficient for a 40lb dog!

I would not recommend this product due to the metal stake being very fragile. We went camping and I tried to twist this thing into the ground and it snapped in half and cut my finger in the process. The leash itself works, and we ended up tying it to a thick chain in the ground provided by the camp site. We purchased another stake at Petco at the same price and the metal was thicker. My dogs are 30 and 40 lbs, and could easily pull this stake from the ground if it is not inserted all the way down. The only way to have this stake all the way down is to exert force. Once you exert force, SNAP! 2 stars because the leash works fine, and I'll keep that part. The stake isn't worth the battle and possible injury can occur if you put tension on the twist.

Works well for puppies. She will be full grown this summer and I hoping she won’t be strong enough to rip it out of the ground then. Update: she is now full grown and has not ripped it out of the ground!
