Great quality for the price!
To give an idea of the size, I have fairly small (adult, female) hands, and I required the tightest setting to not be able to get my hands out. As for the loosest setting, though, these did not fit around my ankles (those darn bones getting in the way!). Anyway, they did come oily and greasy, but it was easy enough to clean them, and they'll make for a great addition to my escape artist's cosplay. You absolutely, 100% require the key, and it's a weird one, so don't lose it. It is also specific to the cuffs, so don't think you can get another set of these. The good news is, you need the key to open AND close them, so there's some safety in that you can't put them on and then realize you've forgotten where you left it. Would spend ~20 on these as an impulse buy, ~60 if I thought about it for a while and really wanted them, any more than ~150 and I would probably be upset by the quality, so... Great value! The paint is already chipping a bit on the key and around the keyhole, but I don't mind. Still looks great.

Nice
Works really well and great for certain activities my only small problem is it only has one key

looks great, but be aware of how they lock
I purchased two pairs of these for use as a prop in a stage production. They look fantastic. They have a great weight to them, so they even sound good when being dropped, etc. But there are two "issues" that I hadn't planned on which affect their use:1. The key is a "screw type" key. No problems in and of itself, BUT, you MUST HAVE THE KEY INSERTED in order to LOCK the handcuffs. In other words, unless the key is fully twisted in, which legitimately takes a good 5-10 seconds, the bar that should lock the wrist in place is simply loose. If you take the key out with the bar "out", it won't go back in. We have been able to make them work, but it's complicated, and not what I had anticipated (if previous reviews mentioned this, I missed it).2. While this is entirely unique to our situation - it's related to #1 above. The reason I bought two pair was because I HAD read a review that indicated the key was tricky to use or something. So I bought a second pair so we would have TWO KEYS to use for the handcuffs we used on stage. Well, the keys are actually unique. I don't know how - they look like a simple threading, but the key is numbered, so somehow they are keyed to the cuffs - and no matter which way we tried, there was no way to use the second key on the other pair of handcuffs. So we had to cut away the link (not an easy process, because these are VERY well made) and then re-link one half of the one handcuff to the other half of the other handcuff. So now both keys live in the cuffs on stage (which is fine, they don't really look like keys) - but we had not anticipated any of this.BUT - at this price, two pair were an easy purchase and worth every penny. I just wanted to provide the additional detail for others' benefit. I still highly recommend them, just with a little asterisk for clarification

I tip my hat to the craftsmanship.
A great collectible, great movie prop, great role play addition to a wardrobe, what can I say. I am a collector of very many things, from gemstones to artifacts to guns to knives to clothing to bicycles to art ect, and these shackle irons are made artisenally. Fully functioning, came painted well out of the box with appropriate volumes of grease lubricant where necessary. If you took his product out of the mail and put it in a box in the attic, you wouldn't see much age when retrieved long ago. A great dungeon mantle piece.

surprisingly comfortable for XL handsa
I where xL mens gloves and these cuffs are surprisingly comfortable. There are no sharp edges, and they don't chase or pinch. No one's going to break out of them, though a small hand might be able to slip out. Great for role playing or scenes.

Wll made, but the key doesnt quite work without some efffort
These are fun. i bought them for "play" and with the exception of the short chain between them, they were fun. That said, my friend got one stuck on her wrist because the key did not want to turn to release it. So, we haven't used them since.

Just What I Needed
I have housemates who keep kidnapping my vacuum, bought specifically for the main floor of my house. They have access to two others, but simply will not leave this vacuum in place, and I'm tried of having to locate it and haul it up or down stairs constantly. Oddly enough, I bought these to (decoratively) secure my vacuum to a wall so that it cannot be kidnapped without a key. ;-)

Well enough made, but limited wrist/ankle size range
These shackles are certainly a good enough value for the price. They're quite heavy and sturdy, and the locking mechanism, although simple, is very effective. The finish is a bit rough, but that fits aesthetically with the whole theme of the shackles, so I didn't consider that to be a negative point at all.The chain is also quite robust. It's not welded, but it really doesn't need to be for this sort of application, and it's really heavy duty. I wasn't able to bend open a link with pretty robust prybars, and so ended up cutting the chain with bolt cutters (to secure it to another structure I've built). The problem I did have is that the adjustable range of the shackle cuffs is fairly limited. They are good for a man's wrists, but many women will be able to slip right out of them. Conversely, they're still too small for most women's ankles. So for locking up a guy using his wrists, they're fine, but that's pretty much the only way I could find to use them. They make a great decoration, though!

Garbage
Item's surface was very rough, the paint was cheap and chipped, one of the two handcuffs did not function (wouldn't lock), I had to pay a gunsmith money to fix it, the sellers price was almost double by the time it arrived ( shipping, brokerage fees and duty). Over all, i would not recommend this item or supplier as i got no satisfaction or response after writing the seller of the condition of this item. Disappointed with Amazon on this as well. To ship it back would only cost me more with shipping, brokerage fees and taxes again. Not worth the effort.
