This book has a decent plot line, but it suffers from having too many secondary characters that make following the action difficult. There were characters and references to incidents from the prior books in this series , and while entertaining, the prior books weren't so great that I remembered them in explicit detail. So, at numerous points, I felt a little lost and fuzzy. There was a lot of elaboration that contradicted itself - the section where he first laid eyes on Jessica is typical of many passages in the book. It didn't elevate the story to a more literary level, but it did serve to make me feel like I was plowing through when a simpler description - and the reader's ability to use their own imagination - might have sufficed.Alex was a good alpha character, but the whole dom/sub relationship with Jessica felt more like a hobby than a lifestyle thing. So they like watching, being watched, and group sex, but that doesn't necessarily equate with BDSM. The power exchanges felt false - Jessica was not a submissive except for bedroom play and even then as the scenes were written, she topped from below an awful lot. She was very young - and acted that way - so I was surprised that a man as worldly and jaded as Alex was would find her immaturity appealing. But somehow, the relationship worked, so I went onto to read the next one directly after.

I was first introduced to Ann Mayburn's writing through the Submissive's Wish Series. Since then I have read so many Ann Mayburn books I have lost count and I have yet to be disappointed!! Her Iron Horse MC Series is one not to be missed! Having already read Ivan and Dimitri and falling so in love with these Russian Dom's that by the end of the first chapter I caught myself reading the books with a Russian accent in my head, I knew Alexandr would be good. But Alexandr was better than good. Way better than good. It was amazing!!! Don't get me wrong I love the characters Ivan and Dimitri but Alexandr stole my heart.You immediately fall in love with him. He is kind and giving and falls deeply in love with Jessica. Jessica is young and so full of life, at times she will have you laughing out loud! Through Ann's excellent writing skills you feel the love and the deep connection between them. Oh, don't get me wrong there are some of the sexiest, kinkiest scenes in this book. But her beautiful, descriptive writing style pulls you deep into the story and the culture of Ireland and Russia. The details in some of the scenes are so well written you find yourself sitting right next to Jessica in the jewelry store viewing the gorgeous jewelry Alexandr has designed for her. Or in the "Hunt" scene you find your heart racing as Jessica searches for her hiding spot. The trip to the Ice Hotel had me shivering and wishing I had my own luxurious fur coat. Ann did such a great job writing this book that every scene you could visualize exactlpy what it looked like and felt like.This story has a little bit of everything for the erotic romance novel reader. Romance, intrigue, danger and sexy as hell sex scenes! Ann Mayburn has out done herself with this story line. You will fall in love with Alexandr and Jessica's story. You will be left with your heart crushed. You will cry and curse Ann for the ending. But I know Ann will not leave us hanging and the sequel to Alexandr will be worth waiting for. One click this book! I promise you will not be disappointed.

Ann has become one of those authors I wait in anticipation for her next book to come out and it was worth the wait. She did an incredible job of weaving the past for Jessica, giving the reader a sense of where she comes from. I was impressed that Alex was upfront about there being things in his life he could not explain to her, couldn't tell her, so that when the truth does come out, he isn't made out to be this horrible person who tricked her. They are both caught up in the life he was born to, circumstances he couldn't change even if he wanted to. Knowing there was going to be a second book, I was concerned how I would be left at the end and what Ann did was leave me wanting MORE MORE MORE...I cannot wait to read the next book, to see how Alex and Jessica's life together turns out. I loved seeing characters from the other books as well. This book is filled with emotion, will make you, laugh, cry and has some sexy hot love scenes. It is one I will read over and over.

I absolutely loved this book. I laughed. I cried. I needed a cold shower. Sexy Russian mafia. Bodyguards. Sex. F/F. And sharing. The sex is explicit and there is some BDSM. An attempted kidnapping and a cliffhanger but don’t worry, the 2nd book is already out.Jessica is an American who lost both her parents and adopted parents. Five years later, she gets a job in Spain where Alex is just finding out that his wife and daughter is still alive and he will do anything to get his family back.

Oh my goodness can this series get any hotter and kinkier ....... answer is yes !!! This one is Alexander , ( who is Dimitri's older half brother) and Jessica's story which comes two parts . Alex has been warned not to get involved with Jessica but luckily for us he doesn't listen and of course they fall in love . This story happens before the last book I know that sounds confusing but when you read it it makes complete sense . One thing I must say is that Alex & Dimitrls father , Jorg , is one evil twisted hateful man , and what a cliffhanger ..... can't wait to read the last part .

Alexandr has found his submissive and after training her up, they enjoy life together as a married couple too. But just when it all seems too good to be true, they're proven right! Alexandr's father is furious that he's married. There is a family curse hanging over their heads that all wives of their family are kidnapped, tortured and killed by the other russian mafia familys. OMG. This is the ultimate part one and I'm waiting with bated breath for part two.Alex and Jessica could possibly be my new favourite couple in the submissive wish books so far.This book helps us understand the reason that Alex behaves the way he does in the first two books. He's obviously a complex character and we needed this first part to really get to know him.Jessica is as vicious as I'd expect for a woman that is going to take on a man as strong as Alex.

Loved these series from the start and it only gets better with each book.I wasn't too sure of the two part story, but ooo it was so good l have bought the second one.l forgot to write a review for this book but wrote it for the second book..do get the two books you wont be disappointed, loved the hot Russian mafia doms, very strong erodic sex...sizzling hot.

Wow i loved this book it is one of those books you can not put down. It keeps you on the edge all the way through the book. I'm not telling you anything about it you must must read the series you will not be disappointed. I did not see that coming at the end. I'm just going to read the next what is going to happen in this one can't wait.
