Finally! Really Tough Mittens!
These mittens are heavy duty choppers. Make no mistake, they are big and bulky. You can't tie your shoes while wearing them, but they are mittens, so who cares? When it comes to snow blowing in sub zero temperatures, you can't beat these. They hold up to the vibration of the snow blower handles, no tearing stitches, no ripped leather, etc. They are water "resistant" which is good enough for me because I use them only when it's very cold out so the snow doesn't melt on them to get them wet at all. However, I have had them get wet and being leather, they get cold, heavy, and stinky. They are quite stiff at first, but they break in nice, almost like a baseball mitt does. After trying a few different brands, these are the best ones I could find. The length fits as expected but they are quite wide in the fingers/palm area. The thumb is short enough to offer decent dexterity for what they are. I love them.

They made my hands sweat, that never happens!!!
I'm one of those unfortunates that can wear any glove or mitt and have frozen finger tips in a few minutes. This really sucks when in a rural setting trying to clear a snowy driveway etc... I've tried many insulated gloves and mitts with varying degrees of success. I had gone outside with fleece insulated leather work gloves as per usual today. We had 10-15F temps going outside. They are finger gloves so easier to do things with most of the time. Well within 15 minutes the tips of my fingers were going numb. I said screw it and switched out to these mitts. Yeah my hands are small so even a medium I'm swimming in, but dang are they warm! Right away my fingers thawed out and within 10 more minutes my hands were actually sweating! I was sitting on a garden tractor plowing snow, so no real movement to make them sweat, and they were sweating! Seriously an amazing set of mittens and glad I got them. In MN it can get down to -20F or worse so these are a great buy!

Heavy duty but stiff
They fit great, well made and warm. HOWEVER, I bought them to do my outdoor chores (alpacas in MN) and I can't grip the shovel or rake until I break them in. I can't imagine anyone could run a snowblower (which I'd hoped) with these on.

Hearty gloves that keep you warm
These gloves are built to take a beating. Thick leather, strong stitching-nice wrist cuff. I live in Chicago and the winters can get pretty cold and icy, I am 65 years old and I get cold easily The insulation or padding is a little thick, but I bought these for shoveling snow, operating snow blower so although you lose a little dexterity you gain in warmth. I have no problem using the gloves to do these chores, and now at long last my hands are no longer cold. I really don't think I will ever need anthor pair. These should last me the rest of my lifetime and then some.

If you need warm mittens look elsewhere
I live in north Florida and it is 31 degrees right now. I wanted these mitts to wear when I go do my barn chores first thing in the morning. This was the first time I wore these mitts and I'm pretty disappointed. First off the mitts are thick and stiff and don't conform to your hands and doing anything with them on is pretty much impossible. I just needed to use the broom and rake so that's not really any big deal. However, I could feel the handles through the palm and after spending about 10 to 15 minutes doing what I needed to do my hands are pretty cold. I got them during the summer wanting to be prepared so returning is not an option, I guess that was a mistake. So if you live in a place that gets below about 40 these are pretty worthless and I would not recommend these.

Not as warm as I hoped
Worn on a single digit morning for a 1 hour walk. My hands got cold and the mittens are very thick so even pulling up a jacket zipper required removing a mitten, further exacerbating the cold. Fleece is not very thick.
