As long as the dog is happy!
Bought this as a thanksgiving gift for my friend who has a Husky! Tried to pull the leash while it’s locked and it barely moved! Received a picture today with her telling me how nice it is lol, trash bag holder (actually has bags inside) is a huge plus!!!

Works better if you lock it at a length and just leave it there
I'll start with the good: - The nylon stands up to my 50lb stubborn boat anchor bulldog no problem. What needs improvement: - Tangle-Free it is not. It has never once retracted and not gotten stuck at least once somewhere along the way. - Locking mechanism is cumbersome and not a natural feel like a classic button lock. Sliding forward partway engages the lock without locking and holding. A nice feature but actually getting it to catch and stop the leash from extending is like trying to hit a bullseye on a moving target. You have to slide forward at the exact moment there is a tooth to catch somewhere inside the device otherwise it sounds like a 1934 pickup changing gears... grind... grind... grind. - Poop bag holder falls off... often. Sometimes the cap on the poop bag holder falls off then your roll of bags falls out and goes rolling away.

Nice construction, but overall too heavy and no pause feature
As soon as I opened the box, it looked like it was solidly constructed. As soon as I picked it up, it felt solidly constructed. The ribbon is nicely made, and has a solid leash clip. As soon as I picked up my other leash, I realized that it was a lot heavier. I weighed it vs my other leash and it was a good 4 oz heavier, 5.5 oz if you add on the bag holder. Since I have two dogs, you're talking an additional 1/2 lb of leash. I also didn't like the locking mechanism, as I thought it had a pause feature, where you press the control arm to temporarily stop the leash, but doesn't lock the leash. The only leash that makes this feature anymore is Target brand of leashes. Our puppies have not outgrown their tendency to "chase" animals yet, so having a pause feature is a nice way to arrest their movement without locking the leash to a particular length. This leash forces you to fully engage the locking mechanism. Ergonomically, the handle is a tad to far back to easily engage or disengage the lock. The bag dispenser is a little flimsy in how it attaches to the leash. I can see where they've added reinforcing tape to the tabs to keep them from breaking. Personally, this entire feature is overkill and would be either tossed or stored in a drawer. Ideally, I would prefer a clip on the bottom of the leash to hold empty or used bags. Hope this helps you in making your decision.

Really nice rock solid retractor and leash where it is really nice to hold, and does the job.
Real nice, comfortable, rock solid design of a retraction system and leash. Love how easy to rolls out, and a very easy to use the stop lever. Retracts well and love the attached holder for the pick up bags. So easy to use even my 9 year old works this one with ease, very comfortable in her hand where I am very happy with the purchase.

Great for my dog
It’s not heavy duty but it works for my 70lb dog without being bulky. Also if you’re having trouble hooking the poop bag hooker to the leash, the hold HAS TO BE EMPTY to hook to the leash.

Just get TUG instead
This leash is good, but for a similar price you can get a TUG leash, which is noticeably easier to use.Main problems in this design that TUG solves:1) To lock the leash using this leash, you need to stretch your thumb forward and push the lock in place. I have big hands for a lady, but even I had to move my hand uncomfortably and push hard in order to get it to lock. In comparison, TUG just has a simple button that you press down in the direction of your palm with no effort. It is a much simpler design.2) The design of the leash rope itself is very similar to TUG. However, for whatever reason, the leash rope gets caught in the chamber of the leash much more frequently than it did with the TUG leash. The TUG leash's rope almost never got caught in the same way, not sure why.3) The doggie bag holder was something I thought was a very cool addition to this leash. However, upon finding out how easy it was to knock the holder off the leash contraption (and doing it multiple times before I finally lost the bag holder for good), I realized it wasn't really worth it.

Well made and very sturdy
Leash operates very smoothly. I find the clasp a bit difficult to open, so someone with large hands will struggle with it. Overall, a very good item.

Not the best leash based on my experience.
Bought it about a month ago. The plastic bag holder tabs broke off within a couple of days so it didn't stsy on the leash. I glued it back on and then last week the cap on the end of the bag holder fell off while I was walking and all the bags fell out without me even realizing it. Now it's just a leash. Good leash for the most part but it's gotten so tangled it doesn't retract correctly. The lock is pretty good but it studders now and then so I need to use some extra force to lock it. It's probably worth it to just go with a recognized brand name. I tried to reach out and ask for a replacement but I'm a couple days past my return window. Oh well, live and learn. 🤷

Not for small hands.
My husband has no issue reaching the locking mechanism however I am unable to with my small hands. Poop bags are short with a wide opening which caused me to have accidents while picking up the poop :(Further, the poop bag holder fell off twice on my walk. Also, the leash always have a bit of tension unlike my old retractable leash.

Broke after 3months garbage product cheap
Leash broke on its own after daily use just after 3months of use... also the ribbon cord is constantly twisting on its self. Don't buy

Not a fan
The locking mechanism keeps sticking and the leash will not fully retract anymore. I've had it for two weeks
