CPUDC1U2000 3-12V 2000mAh DC Universal Power Adapter with 2.1A USB Charging Port by CyberPower
I use this CyberPower CPUDC1U2000 3-12V 2000mAh DC Universal Power Adapter with 2.1A USB Charging Port on the boat and on the way to and from getting minnows. The adjustable voltage allows me to power a small bubbler that usually gets power from Two D cell batteries. I just use the lowest setting, 3volts dc and have inserted a plug, which I soldered in on each end of the battery holding box. A small diode will keep it from charging the batteries. This will keep power on the bubbler for the minnows when in transet and a frozen bottle of water will keep them cool. Also, it can charge a cell phone, if needed. Since it is adjustable, about any DC apparatus could be powered with the many connectors that come with this fairly reasonably priced product at only $17.98 and with my Prime membership, shipping was free. Really seems to work well and the meter showed the power adjustments worked as they should and it can power up to 2 amps, that's a bunch for this level of DC voltage. I have purchased a DC to DC Buck Boost circuit pre built onto a PC board for about $11.00, That will take any voltage between 12vdc to about 30vdc in and put out an adjustable out of 1.5vcd to about 24vdc or so. This with a plug into a lighter socket can then be connected directly to the wires going into about any battery operated device. Hope this helps someone with some battery use problems around the auto or the boat.

Excellent and well-made!
I purchased this for my 20-year-old Escort Solo radar detector. Works perfectly! You can fine-tune your voltage and polarity on this baby. The 5 foot power cord should be acceptable for most uses. If you do need to run the cable around the seats and under the dash, etc. you will want to buy an extension cable for it.By the way, this particular model radar detector’s polarity (ie. The center pin voltage requirement) is negative polarity (ie. reverse polarity).A lot of google info states that most radar detectors are positive polarity. Not so.I was able to test it on both positive and reverse polarity without damaging the detector; which is a testament to passport/escort quality. The passport/escort website is not very helpful regarding power requirements. They don’t seem to want to support their older model detectors.

Great
Better than I expected, nothing to it worked great

Easy to use
Easy to use; there are about 10 tips. Two settings -- volts (3-12 volts) and whether the tip is positive or negative (there probably is a diagram on your device). It works, appears solid construction.I used it to power a CD player for my new vehicle -- they don't put CD players in new vehicles anymore!!The only drawback is it's a little pricey. Might be cheaper in the short run just to buy batteries. But as long as my vehicle is on, I have power! ---

Convenient tool for small electronics
Was looking to power two DC fans and skip the transformer losses of using an inverter and their wall warts, DC to AC to DC. Instead I can adjust the DC voltage up and down to slow or really speed up my fans. When I go camping I have my 12V Engel fridge in my truck can and when it’s very hot out I will crack the windows and use the fans to circulate the air so my fridge isn't sitting in 100 degrees F. I’ve only had this device for a few days but it worked straight out of the box. I would caution people to keep the polarity switch in the top position as you could fry your electronics. I will put a dab of hot glue in the slot so it can’t be switched.

Perfect if you need reverse polarity
Seriously folks, if you don't NEED reverse polarity, or you don't understand why the switch is there, either tape it in the correct position or go buy one of the hundred other adapters here that don't have the switch. Don't buy something you don't understand and then come on here writing a bad product review because YOU messed up. (Ok, rant over, lol.)This is now part of my disaster kit. I have an old automotive jump starter with a somewhat weak battery. Just not enough starting oomph to start a vehicle anymore (especially my new, larger truck) but it is still a plenty capable 12v source for charging phones or running a weather radio etc. The jump start box has a 12v socket, so this adapter is the perfect companion. Wish it came with a case, but an old Cutty Sark bag tied to the handle works fine.Quite a few of my older radios are neg-center, so this is sort of universal for my purposes. My stuff is mostly 6-9vdc with a fairly low draw. I've checked the output with a meter (acceptable) but not extensively under a load yet. Drove a couple (disposable, just in case) 6v speakers for a time and it didn't heat up or short out. Will do more testing later, but seems good so far.

May Be The Best Adapter
Had an older model that was heavily used for about ten years before I mistakenly shorted it out.Immediately ordered another, so far works as well as the previous. This model has a polarity selector, making it even more versatile.

Works perfectly!
I don't normally write a review so soon after receiving an item, but this adapter is great! My last one was old and bulky, so I thought it was time for an upgrade. It runs my portable monitor off a car or battery pack with no issues at all. And to my pleasant surprise, it also came with a tip that will fit my old microcassette recorder, which my last adapter didn't have. I haven't tried the USB charging port, but I doubt there's any problems with it. This is also a lot more compact than my last adapter, which has the same power rating (3V - 12V, 2000 mA).

5 and 6) pleased with it so far
This actually works very well, could be a little cheaper and maybe offer a 5v output (it has 4.5 and 6) pleased with it so far.
