Great tiller. Easy to maintain. American company.
I no have no clue at all why this review wants me to mention “stretch” and “thickness” for an electric rototiller. It’s definitely light weight. It also has a lot of “get up and go“ with its electric motor (electric motors have maximum torque when they are not moving, unlike gasoline engines which have to be moving to have any torque at all). I was able to till up about 200 ft.² of my yard to turn into a garden in a fairly short amount of time. I would definitely purchase this product again, but since it’s a durable good, I’ll doubt I’ll need to do so for quite a while.“What about the cord?”The Cheapest way of getting power to any equipment is straight out of the wall from your local public utility company. It’s WAY cheaper than both gasoline and rechargeable batteries and way lighter too, though once you’re not carrying around any kind of power storage (gas or batteries) or a heave gasoline engine.Along with this Rototiller, I purchased two very long extension cords. Unlike a gasoline engine or rechargeable battery, which costs way more per watt (and limits the time I could use the equipment) I expect the extension cords to serve me well for at least the next 20 years with virtually no maintenance, along with this rototiller. In doing this, I also don’t have to maintain any power production equipment (like a gasoline engine), but only the actually tilling mechanism itself, which is WAY WAY simpler.ZERO regrets on this purchase. If you need a Rototiller, get this one.A word about corporate accountability: The “Earthwise” line of products manufactured by American lawnmower company of Muncie, Indiana, which is apparently a really great place to work for. So if you care about the welfare of the workers at companies were you spent your money, this product (and the whole brand) is a good one to buy for that reason as well.

I love this little guy!
This past year, our garden was only about 100 sq. feet. Last year we created it using our neighbor's big gas tiller. We have very thick grass and clay soil. I did not want to risk breaking his big tiller and saw he also had one of these electric jobs. He loves using his small one (he just turned 90 last week). So, I bought this as I wanted to at least double the size of the garden for next year. I am retired, have multiple disabilities, shoulders and knees are shot, but I try to stay pretty busy. This little guy cuts right through the grass, after I mowed it down to a buzz-cut level. I found it best to do 3 chops to make it easy and create some great soil. I let the tiller pull itself forward, then I pull it back, then I change directions 90 degrees and do it again. Super! I just went over the entire garden yesterday, adding another 30 sq. feet, tilling in compost and ashes. It took less than 30 minutes for me to do it all. I'll leave the garden open for another month or so, then cover with black plastic over the winter, ready for next year.

Very Powerful Indeed!
I have owned many rototillers over the years and once had a rototilling service business for a couple of years. Therefore I feel that I have a pretty good idea as to what I am talking about. I run this off a small suitcase generator that is almost silent and the rototiller is almost silent. That is quite the improvement all by itself. However, the real gain is the power and ease of use. It is extraordinarily powerful and lightweight at only 9amps draw. Electric motors have all their torque at 0 rpm so it is the perfect power for rototilling. It will do the work of a much larger gasoline rototiller. It also saves on fuel as the small 2kw suitcase generator sips fuel. I can also run it off the inverter in my RV. Basically I can rototill my garden with the power from my solar panels on the roof of my RV!!! This product brings rototilling into the 21st century!

You will not find a better value in performance for the money, period.
I wasn't expecting much from an electric tiller. But this lightweight little champ packs a lot into it's slender frame. It's highly portable, allowing me to do some work around my home and then take it to my mom's place. She was as blown away as I was.We have HARD, rocky soil in Pennsylvania. Less soil, more clay with a bit of dirt and lots of rocks mixed in. This thing tears through it like it's potting soil. It digs down easily, doesn't buck much even when you hit that stubborn root or rock, and powers through the hardest soil out there with ease.Keep the tines free of roots/top growth and you will be as pleased as I was/am.For reference, the project I bought it for was to turn the top of my yard that was damaged by hyper dogs, in order to replant all of it with new grass.I did 1000 sq ft in about 20 minutes. Now I wasn't tilling deep, which this thing will also do as I've used it to extend flower beds at my mom's, but it's a beast.Worth every penny.

Nice small tiller
I was impressed by how good this little tiller churned through the soil. We used it on an over grown raised bed and it did a great job. There were a lot if heavy roots that get wound around the tiller shafts, but that is to be expected. Once you get your beds in goid shape it becomes easier. Tiller digs down 6 to 8 inches, which is plenty deep enough for any veggie garden short of corn. We don’t grow corn anyway because the yield is so poor and corn is so cheap.Buy it. You won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely worth it
Needed to till up/ turn over fairly hard, rocky, root filled areas to create a raised garden bed (central Texas area). Looked at many, many options from Home Depot, etc. . Saw the great reviews of this product on Amazon -and the reasonable price - and gave it a try. Only ding is the not obvious way this thing is assembled. Get beyond that, and it's a superior product. Small, lightweight but VERY powerful ! Crushed through rocks and small roots with ease. With that power, first time users should be aware that the real "tilling" occurs when you PULL the tiller, not when you walk it forward. IT WILL BUCK if you get ahold of a major root. But it won't break. If you have crappy soil and can hold on with about 40 lbs of force, then this is all the tool you need.

Surprenant
Ce petit appareil est vraiment efficace pour sa petite taille. Cette fois c'est moi qui l'a utilisé au potager au lieu de mon conjoint.Très léger et surtout très surprenant pour sa petite taille. Il fait un travail remarquable.Marie
