New and Good condition! Sounds great!
Delivered on time as expected. Both disk and case and new condition. The CD sounds great!I bought thus because I wanted songs from the original soundtrack that are hard to find on most streaming services today.

One of the best Swing albums of all time.
The research I have found is that a lot of work and money went into this soundtrack and it completely shows. It has the hands down best versions of Sing, Sing, Sing, and Bei Mir Bistu Shein you will ever find recorded. Good luck finding these versions posted online or streaming. They were made specifically for this album. I know I know. Who buys CDs anymore. Do yourself a favor and buy a copy before these discs are not longer available. You’ll own a copy of one of the best film soundtracks ever made.

Great swing
This album is the only place I have been able to find these versions of the classic swing of the last century. Best ones out there.

Swing Heil! SWING KIDS: Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Hollywood Records, 1993) Original Music composed and
SWING KIDS (1993) was described by one critic as 'a fine film, hindered by a slightly absurd title'. No argument there. The soundtrack album, however, is still blistering hot, with some of the best modern orchestrations of classic big-band swing to be heard. (The film itself might look very different to a present-day audience, in the wake of 9/11, the Patriot Act, and a palpable erosion of personal freedoms. Hard to say.) But James Horner, the film's music supervisor, wisely gave associate Robert Haft and arranger Chris Boardman the resources to get first-rate modern recordings of "Sing, Sing, Sing", "Bei Mir Bist Du Schon" (with a gem of a vocal performance by Janice Siegel of The Manhattan Transfer), and a medley of "Life Goes To A Party/Jumpin' At The Woodside", as well as an up-tempo version of Django Reinhardt's "Daphne". There are also remastered originals by Benny Goodman (I wonder how "Flat Foot Floogee" would translate into German..!)Horner's own compositions contribute to the film's increasingly dark and uneasy mood, as the freewheeling Hamburg of 1939 is subjected to increasing repression by the Gestapo. It's a look at a lost world as it slides toward a brutal decline, and the rousing swing-dance sequences contrast harshly (of necessity) with the frank terrorism of a police state's crushing dissent. Not an easy album in all departments, but worthwhile.

The DEFINITIVE version to own of Sing Sing Sing
I've heard "Sing Sing Sing" before, but when I heard it on episode 8 of "Glee" the sound quality was AWESOME and I HAD to have that version. After scouring the internet and iTunes and coming up with false hits, I finally found THIS version of the song which I'm certain is the same version used on Glee. This version was freshly recorded for the movie in absolutely EXCELLENT sound quality. A vast departure from the "Benny Goodman" recordings you'll find everywhere else. Plus the length of this version (5:05) is just right (I would think you'd get sick of listening to the full 8 minute version). There are other awesome NEW recordings in this CD as well like "Shout and Feel It", "Daphne", "Life Goes to a Party" and "Bei Mir Bist du Schon". It's as though Benny Goodman's band was transported to today and freshly recorded their music using today's technology. The CD also includes some original versions of songs (as well as the scratchiness of an old vinyl recording) like "Swingtime in the Rockies" which still sounds good. The "oldest sounding" award has to go to "It Don't Mean a Thing" which sounds like you're listening through an old Victrola. Then of course peppered throughout the CD are the somber tones of Horner's original music for the movie. This is a "must have" for great sounding, hi fidelity Swing Music.

Great performance and great recording!
It is hard to find swing music recording with good sound quality. Most of the recordings were done a long time ago before good recording technology was available. I have bought a few swing CDs before and each time I was disappointed by the sound. So glad to find this soundtrack. Fantastic music, performance and recording. This will be my reference swing CD from now on.

There are better choices for Big Band music
I bought this CD because of all the great reviews..I have listened to it a few times and don't understand the hype. I was not raised on big band music but gained an affection for it once I entered my 50s. I have a lot of big band cuts on my iTunes. The cover of Swing, Swing, Swing starts off the CD and is a good cover even if it is a few minutes shorter than the excellent Carnegie Hall version by Benny Goodman. However, it is also the high point of the CD.8 of the 16 cuts on this CD are not swing songs but background mood music for the movie. Three more are obscure Benny Goodman tracks which are mediocre at best. One track is a mashup of two great classics, Life Goes to a Party and Jumpin at the Woodside, covered in just 2:18. I assume this was done to fit in the movie, but from a musical viewpoint, this is an insult to both songs. The real kicker is the version of Bei Mir Bist Du Schön. It starts out at a pace similar to the original Andrews Sisters version, then inexplicably comes to a complete stop at the two minute mark, pauses for a few seconds, then resumes at an excruciatingly slow pace that gradually increases over the next minute to resume the original pace. Why? What it in the context of the movie (which I have not seen)? Very frustrating for a listener. The Andrews Sister version, even the Puppini Sisters version, is much better.Overall, not a very satisfying CD for me, maybe because I have a fairly extensive library of the original versions. If you want more of this big band music, start with the Ken Burns series of CDs. They contain many of the original hits with very good sound quality.

Nice piece of history. I wonder how much is based on fact. Nice story.
I remember seeing this movie in the theater. The music was much better thaan of what is offered here. I wanted to get a pristine copy of sing-sing-sing w/a swing. What is here is watered down. Bie Mir Bist Du Schann is COMPLETELY different from the film. Ordinarily, I would say skip it, but if you are a real fan...

Swing Swing
