Space Dandy: Season 1 (Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

This seriously maybe the single greatest anime ever made and will be forever . I've never seen such beauty . This is the most fun you will have watching anything ever . It's a masterpiece of animation each episode done by different animators and different directors . Each episode is it's own special adventure . And there all unique . If you watched this entire series I would be surprised if there wasn't at least 5 episodes that just blew you away . It's hilarious- well written- it seems like there is no plot but then u discover the entire show is the plot and each episode gets tied together perfectly . It's simply a masterpiece . Buy it . Watch It multiple times you will love it

The show alone gets 5/5 but the delivery on part of amazon was atrocious.. I ordered this 3 separate times and every time the chipboard box arrived crushed and damaged badly, there’s a reason it’s only $20 and it’s because they’re all already damaged before they even box them up. If you’re okay with a damaged product than buy away, but just know what you’re getting before you buy.

"Space Dandy" is the kind of anime that doesn't fall into an easy category. If you're the type of person who equally enjoys the "Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" books as well as vintage Mad Magazine, you probably fall into the niche demographic that the show is aiming at. This is an episodic series that, to coin a phrase used by one of the lead characters, is "pretty deep in a stupid, rambling way." There's lots of comedy in the early episodes, lots of sudden veers into extreme sentimentality in others, some excellent slapstick action, and some radically different shifts in visual style in some of the more experimental episodes. Throughout, the graphic style is always clean, colorful, pleasing to look at and almost always could pass for full cel animation.This set only contains the first season, which consists of only 13 episodes. Most of the funnier episodes are contained here. It's a pretty fast watch although, given its episodic nature, it can be a little hard to watch more than a couple of shows in a single sitting. The series lasted only one year, but this was probably by design. Personally, I would rather watch a short series that went out on a high note than to watch a series that drags on years past its normal lifespan.Audio is decent. Not many stereo effects are noticeable when listening through headphones, but the soundtrack isn't in mono, either. The music in particular sounds great.If you liked this box set you may enjoy some of the manga adaptation, which uses these episodes as a springboard.

This show is incredible and with this edition, there's a slot open (where the postcards are stored) for season two when you buy it! Perfect for collectors of physical media! One thing I will say: Nearly EVERYTHING I order from Amazon this year comes in damaged.. It feels like I'm buying used items for full price and I'm really tired of it.. I'm still giving this five stars just because I love the show. This is my second time buying it (my first copy was stolen..) and I guess my personal Dandy curse continues 🤨 but the discs are ok and I'm just grateful to own it. I know that Amazon can't control the shipping because workers handle the boxes without consideration a lot of the time.. It's just frustrating and makes me not want to order much anymore 🙃 Still highly recommend the show and hope that your experience is much better!!!

Today this awesome season 1 set of Space Dandy arrived. I've been wanting to check out this animé for a while, not having cable I decided to get the Blu-ray with some Christmas money.The two episodes I have watched so far are amazing holding up to Mr.Wantanabe's other works. Most obviously Space Dandy compares to Cowboy Bebop, they even use Wulongs.All of Shinchiro Wantanabe's anime have a strong musical influence and Space Dandy is no different. I highly recommend anyone who likes Comedy and or space Adventures give this show a chance. Space Dandy does not take its self seriously, from the get go "We better go find some aliens or we're going to lose viewers" the show is also visually popping with color and style. Blah blah blah go watch Space Dandy!

Such a great show, I can't recommend it enough. I'm normally a die hard sub fan, but this show 100% should be watched dubbed. The english voice cast did such an amazing job.This limited edition Is really cool, I love the box art, the art cards are really cool too. I'm planning on turning them into magents with magnet tape.

I love Space Dandy! When I saw the DVDs where finally available I jumped to buy one! This series is full of wacky turns and unpredictable outcome, its great! I love the occasional subtle use of Cowboy Bebop references used as well.The package came in a timely fashion and the box was well protected. Though you really can live without the Limited Edition extras. The cards are cute and show some art that I haven't seen online so that's cool but that's really all you get.Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

I've always been a fan of the Cowboy Bebop Series, and have heard a lot of positive things about Space Dandy. I really enjoyed connecting with the characters, and the animations and visuals in this show are absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. On top of the that, the voice acting is really amazing, and helps presents the jokes within the show very nicely.I don't think I've ever seen an anime that has made me giggle uncontrollably and smile so much to the point where my cheekbones were hurting. I highly recommend that others watch this, as you'll be in for one dandy ride. 🙂

the "limited edition" features were not particularly amazing, but the series is far more fun that i was originally willing to give it credit for... gotta say, at first it just looks stupid, but it's actually very enjoyable.

作品の評価については傑作すぎるので私から申し上げることはございません。　北米版ですので、日本語音声時の強制字幕を心配しましたが、PS3にて日本語再生時には字幕が出ないことを確認しました。　ただし、本放送時に字幕であった部分(ゾンビ回等)はきっちり英語になっています、北米版ですから当たり前なんですが・・・　OPEDのスタッフリストは当然英語なんですが、本編での字幕まで英語になっているのでちょっと残念でした。　収録に関してはBD版は1枚目1話～10話、2枚目に11話～13話といういつもの無理矢理な収録w　なんで均等に入れないんでしょうかねぇ？　さて、シーズン2の発売が今から楽しみです、いつ出るのかな？
