Bed Rail Connection System

I just completed a king sized bed using these to connect the head and toe boards to the corner posts. It is important to be accurate with the drilling and for the insert, to use the exact sized drill bit. What the instructions don't tell you is the size of the hex key needed to drive the insert but I found one to fit in a standard setI was joining 2x8 rails to 4x4 posts so followed the suggestion of another reviewer to use 2 sets per joint and to glue the joint - I therefore did not use the dowels. The joints are solid. It can be a bit fiddly getting the nut on to the threaded bar - especially on the 2 inch thick rail (I had a deeper hole) but once tight, these things are ver very strong. They are highly recommended

It should be sold in a set of eight. working as expected.

As everyone else, requiring an odd sized drill bit and trying to align the drill hole for the side of forstner bit hole can be a bit annoying. If not aligned well, tightening the nut could push the U shaped washer to get pushed out and shift a bit. However when everything is aligned, it does give great support for the bed rail. I have 2x6 bed rails with 2x4 top and cleat, each cleat supporting 2x4 slats mounted with joist hanger. The bed did withstand 90 lb mattress + 400lb people weight moving around with no problem. It's worth the hassle if you are looking to build a solid bed.

So after moving, the movers somehow lost 1 of the original connectors for our bed. I finally found these and they fit perfect. easy to install. I did place them both on the foot of the bed and I am holding on to an original as a spare but overall I cannot complain. Been bouncing on my bed for 8 months now and there is absolutely no difference for the sturdy ones made 15 years ago...

This set worked well w the Thomasville Headboard. Any problems were with the headboard not the kit.

The information sent with this kit is pretty useless. Ended up searching the web to find the information that is really needed. The image is linked to this review so others do not have to do the same.

Like many. The movers lost my hardware box. The original hardware had a different thread type. Simply removed the old insert with an Allen wrench and installed the new one. Could not have been more simple. Took me less than 10 minutes to install.

We lost our hardware in the move and this slotted right into our Thomasville bed.Expensive but better than trying to piece one together at the hardware store!
