Finally Real Milk Delivered! THANK YOU!
You don't how much you miss something until you don't have it. I'm disabled and have trouble getting milk. I've tried all the milk substitutes and all I can say about them is yuck! As soon as I got this milk I put 1 container in the fridge and the rest in the pantry. It was incredible having fresh milk on my cereal and in my coffee. It's wonderful to be able to pour real milk in my coffee instead something dry that won't dissolve and is made up all chemicals. I'm sorry if this is crude but I need my bran flakes to keep regular and they taste so much better with real milk. I live in Wisconsin, the Dairy State, milk was something that was always just there until it wasn't. All winter I worried if I was not getting enough vitamin D and now my worries are over. I don't know why it took so long for shelf stable milk to come to America but I am so happy that I can finally get it.

The perfect solution ...
I'm single and don't use a lot of milk -- mostly for cooking and my breakfast cereal in the morning. My local supermarket no longer sells milk in a 1-quart carton, and I can't consume an entire 1/2-gallon carton before it spoils, so I looked for a shelf-stable solution: milk in a small enough carton that I could keep on hand without refrigeration and use as needed.Saw this, and decided to give it a try.I purchased the 2% "Reduced Fat Milk" -- six 32-ounce (1-quart) cartons. I'm extremely pleased with it so far. I've had it on "subscribe and save," and so far, I haven't had any problems with short expiration dates -- my last order is set to expire in about 9 months, and that's certainly enough time for me to use it. My intent and use might be different from some: I'm not looking for long-term (say, more than 3-6 months) shelf life, since I go through a carton each 7-10 days, so I have this delivered every 8 weeks, and that works out just fine.So how does it compare in taste and texture to supermarket dairy case 2% milk? It's just a little less "full flavored," but it's perfectly fine for cereal and cooking. It's not "watery" -- no issues at all with taste or consistency. I've had no problems with spoilage, either -- it comes nicely sealed and keeps well in the fridge after it's opened. I usually put a new carton in the fridge the night before I need to use it so it's chilled in the morning.I'm keeping this on Subscribe & Save for as long as Amazon offers it. It solves my particular problem perfectly. Solid 5 stars.

Gotta Milk This One
It was with much trepidation I bought this boxed milk that can sit on my shelf for months b4 opening & then refrigerating. But, I was tired of buying 1/2 gal to 1 gal jugs of milk only to have them spoil. Moreover, I was dubious about the flavor of this kind of milk.To begin with, "this kind of milk" is 100% REAL milk. Secondly, it is skim milk, but it appears not to be, nor tastes like it's watery. It has a smooth, pure consistency & taste from the time the carton is opened till its last contents are poured out. It's so advantageous to have a single quart open at a time, not once havingto discard spoiled milk!Incidentally, I have an adult daughter who LOVES her milk. When she visits for a weekend, she brings her own gallon of skim milk & finishes it b4 leaving us. She was quite hesitant to try this Natrel Skim Milk, but not having brought her own, she was "forced" to try mine. She could not get past her surprise of just how delicious she thought this product was. So, there you have it from a milk connoisseur!

Excellent shelf life, Good taste
Living in the country where I live means that a trip to the corner store to pick up a quart of store-bought milk takes 45 minutes of driving round-trip. These ultra-pasteurized milk quarts in asceptic cartons are a godsend as they enable me to have milk on hand all the time. The batch that was delivered to me had a use-by date of mid June 2015, and being that they were delivered late november 2014 (at the time of the writing of this review) that indicates that this milk has a shelf life of seven months without the need for refrigeration which is a pretty amazing feat. Taste-wise they rank somewhere between the taste of fresh store-bought milk and reconstituted milk powder, or perhaps a glass of cold, fresh store-bought milk with a few tablespoons of evaporated milk mixed in. So the taste isn't perfect - if you're a purist you will want store-bought milk - but it is much better than reconstituted milk or evaporated milk, which prior to shelf-stable milk like this were the only other two options outside of a long trek to the grocery store. This is a great product, highly recommended.

Tasty and Always on Hand!
I lived in Switzerland for two years in the 1980’s and the first thing that I thought was odd for this dairy country was ALL their milk was sold in cartons sitting on the shelf and never refrigerated. It was explained to me this process requires triple pasteurization to become shelf milk and is a safer product. Requires refrigeration once opened.

Even though its pricier than I would like, I have a hard time finding SKIM uht ...
This milk tastes the same as regular skim milk to me. Even though its pricier than I would like, I have a hard time finding SKIM uht milk where I live. When I was 1/2 to 3/4 done with my first carton I noticed clumps like the milk was going bad. The milk still tasted good, but I discarded the rest anyway. When this happened to a second carton I thought it was either A) my refrigerator was too cold because it has ice crystals near where I keep my milk or B) I was contaminating it or cutting too close to the 7 day opened shelf life. To determine the cause I opened a 3rd quart. I shook it, and drank it at room temp (even though I like my milk cold), and it already had the chunks despite tasting normal. When grabbing this quart I noticed the spout was separating from the rest of the TetraPak- and made me wonder if the TetraPak itself is of poor quality. Because it tasted normal I don't think it was contaminated, so maybe it settles on its own. I might try a 2% from a grocery store to see if I have the same problem, but for the price I will probably just stick with regular milk.
