It's a keeper for me!
I already have the 24-105 lens but needed something a bit longer. Surprisingly this though a longer lens has a faster aperture fully extended at f6.4 of about 1/3rd over the shorter zoom.Straight out of the box you realise it's heavier, but it’s a lot lighter than the F2.8 70-210 lenses I have used. It’s an all-composing lens which, I am sure a lot of people will keep on their camera. It covers wide-angle at 24mm up to super-telephoto at 240mm. It’s a compromise on prime lenses but at this price, it is the second cheapest zoom in the Canon rf range. The nice thing I like is that it has a lens lock to stop the lens creeping open when you have it by your side. This isn’t available on the smaller 24-105mm lens and I like that addition. The lens takes a larger filter at 72mm and since the lens does not come with a lens hood. The cheaper Canon lens generally does not have these, and they are an additional cost for the photographer but recommended to stop finger marks on the lens and it affords some degree of protection to the front element.I like the performance of the lens. Tact sharp and that was only with the lens stabilisation on without the Canon rf6 inner body stabilisation (I don’t think the Canon R or RF have inner body stabilisation in their bodies and wanted this to cover all cameras in the range). The zoom range is impressive and even at 240mm, I can’t see any camera shake, though this was a pretty sunny afternoon.Ok, now the downside. At 24mm there is vignetting. See image. Maybe not a great problem if you are going to crop and you have to consider this is a budget lens, not a professional f2.8 or f4 lens.At 35mm, there is a bot of chromatic aberration. Again, dealt with easily enough in Adobe Lightroom but just give yourself some space when taking the image. At 240, amazing. Fully extended and its sharp even handheld. All in all, I like this. I need to consider if I need the lighter and smaller 24-105 lens. That will, for all intents cover most of my needs but I like to have the longer range for long shot portraits, sports, wildlife, though most of my images are easily covered with the shorter zoom.Well, is it worth it? Yes. This is a keeper for me and a five-star buy at this price.

Great lens for travelling
This isn't the fastest lens in the world but ideal for travelling if you don't want to take 2-3 lenses with you. Used with my EOS R6 Mkii, I found the lens very responsive, quick to focus and easy to use. I was very pleased with the additional reach over my 24-105 which made all the difference when capturing shots at range. As usual with Canon, it is disappointing that a lens hood isn't provided as they do with prime lenses, so I bought a third party hood (JJC-78F) at a fraction of the price of a Canon hood.

suprisingly light
I already had the 24x105 but I wanted to keep the 24x and add some length. The 240x made it so that I didnt have walk around with more lens than I needed and this fit the bill. looking forward to trying it out on holiday next month.

Good all round lens
Great all-rounder better than the 24 to 105 which came with my canon R seems sharper and better reach

Value for money
Certainly not the sharpest lens at the extremes of aperture, but the focal range makes it ideal for a walkabout lens when you are not able to change lenses, e.g. family trips.

Quite heavy. No comparison with L lens
I thought this would be the answer to travelling with my Canon R5 as a single versatile lens, instead of two L lens. But actually quite heavy and for wildlife produces quite soft images which need post production work to enhance sharpness.

Lend Hood not in box
Box contents list Lens Hood EW-78F which was not in the box. Canon non L lenses do not usually come with a lens hood, but it is listed in the box contents. Disapointed.
