Moisturizer Atheist to True Believer
For the vast majority of my adult life I scoffed at the claims of beauty product companies, though I tried many. I felt like most moisturizers were pretty much interchangeable -- unscented body lotion from the grocery store seem to work as well as $60 department store magic moisturizer. In my early thirties I developed a fairly deep crease across my forehead, and parentheses around my mouth, but shrugged and didn't give it much thought because it was just a regular part of aging. But then...I went with a friend to a fancy department store so she could get her magic cream that costs as much as two weeks of groceries for my family. I rolled my eyes at the extravagance of it all, and ended up with samples from other brands that she didn't want. One of those little tiny packets was for the Orlane Super Light Moisturizer. At the time I had been using old Cl**** stuff scrounged from under the sink because I was planning (and paying for) my wedding. That stuff finally ran out. So I reluctantly opened the Ourlane packet, rolling my eyes internally and expecting nothing. Strangely, that little packet just sort of kept going. I used it for four days and I thought my creases and lines were starting to fade, but dismissed it as wishful thinking. The next day, two people commented on my glowing skin. At this point I saw trouble on the horizon...A few days later the little sample finally gave out and after collecting more compliments on my skin in those intervening days and I had gotten collectively over my lifetime, I knew that for the first time ever a beauty product was actually working.I tried to resist it. I didn't want to spend the money. It's expensive. I didn't want to end up as one of those insufferable beauty mavens who does nothing but stare at her own face. But the results has become undeniable. My skin really was glowing. The creases really had lessened.I gave in and eventually bought some and have been a convert ever since. My face has fewer lines and creases now (3 years post-wedding) than it did before the wedding, simply from using the Super Light Moisturizing Creme. And here's a giant bonus: I get migraines quite often and many cosmetics will trigger them due to the fragrances added. Not so with this one. The fragrance is very light, very pleasant, and has never triggered a migraine for me.Now, a word of caution: its easy enough to find what appears to be "good deals" online for this product and significantly reduced prices. Don't fall for it. It's 95% likely that it's a counterfeit. Counterfeit cosmetics can be very dangerous, and all are unethical and a waste of money. Get yours from a known, authorized carrier. One bottle will last about three months. So, bottom line for me is that this product changed decades of disbelief into devotion. I love it and will continue to buy it as long as it's available. Hope this helps someone else out there who was sitting on the fence!
