This is a compact, bright headtorch that's comfortable to wear. Unless you have specific needs for something else, this is all the headtorch you'll ever need.I've had a number of headtorches over the years; there's an old Petzl Zoom headtorch in a crevasse somewhere in the French Alps, having been knocked off my climbing helmet (there's a story behind that, but perhaps this isn't the place) and I've gone through a number of others in various climbing and walking trips. Mostly, they were the sort that had a three-strap configuration holding them around your head with a battery pack to the rear and a bulky light set up to the front. What attracted me to this headtorch - this is my second of these, the first one didn't get used over lockdown and the batteries leaked and wrecked it - was that it just has one headband strap and a compact but effective light at the front.Is it all good? No, there are a couple of niggles. I find the switch difficult to operate with gloves on - not impossible, just awkward - and if you use batteries with this, they demand a bit of care to fit in order not to break the plastic case they sit in (in the end, I just bought the rechargeable battery). But unless you have specific needs for, say, night navigation or running after dark, this is likely to be all the headtorch you need. These days, when my days of inadvertently knocking headtorches into crevasses are long since over, it is for me.

Good head torch, has a white and red light. White light has 3 brightness settings and the red light has only one setting. Really good torch for working in the dark. High quality as expected from petzl. Batteries last a long time.

Bright enough for home use, in the garden, shed, garage, or for jogging or cycling etc etc. Is this product good enough for caving / climbing etc? Probably not, but then if you were doing that, I'm sure you would be paying a lot more than this for your head lamps. Overall, very good.

I was worried about it being too heavy because of having to use batteries, but once I received it I noticed it was, in fact, very light. I use it at work and I think the lowest brightness setting is a bit less bright than I had imagined, so sometimes I use the second brightness setting, which is very bright. It's very easy to use and change from one setting to another. I also love the design. I would buy again.

High quality battery headlamp that can take off the shelf batteries or optional lithium rechargeable pack.Nice bright white light and really important (for me) red light so as not to lose night vision.Pricier than many you’ll see on Amazon but the quality is that much better and these lights can take quite a bit of abuse.

Got this as a present and the recipient was very very pleased with it. Bright light comfortable to wear, does the job, excellent item, and I might get one for myself and as another gift.

I love my new Petzl head torch - an upgrade to an old cheap Energizer head torch I previously had which wasn’t very bright in comparison. Was a great little head torch to take on a recent trip where I went walking up a very rocky and at times very steep hill in the dark and was very bright. I like the option to switch to a night mode red light and the fact that the little ring around the torch itself is glow in the dark so if you were to switch it off and put it down you can easily find it again in the dark.

We got two of these - a black and a white with blue - after going completely unprepared on a night hike where someone else had one of these. It has three brightness modes, all diffuse light, as well as a red light, which is what the person on our night hike used to keep their eyes adjusted to the darkness. Overall, up until our last trip, I would have said these were excellent all-around headlamps. We recently went on a road trip that included Lava Beds NM. We only had two of these, so the third member of our party used a Duracell headlamp that similarly had all four modes. The Duracell headlamp was noticeably brighter, which was very important in the pitch black caves. Even when fully charged, these headlamps were dimmer. The Duracell headlamp also had different patterns of light, not just diffuse. Overall, this is still an excellent headlamp for normal night hiking and other activities with some residual natural light, but perhaps not the best option for the complete darkness of a cave.

Muy práctico y fácil de usar. No he hecho un uso muy profesional, más bien cuando he ido en furgoneta a la montaña de noche. La verdad es que me va de fábula. Tiene varias intensidades de luz y es cómodo de llevar.

Awesome light! Super bright and lightweight. Used for camping, climbing, bikepacking. Great piece of kit.
