The finish is anodized on the knife, and it's made very securely. My only complaint was that the knife came with a beveled edge and was pretty dull. I had to put a new edge on it and sharpen it up. I'm not sure if it was just this knife or others in the series, but the knife lock is a pain to push down. I bought this for my GF as an emergency knife, so i had to work with it quite a bit to fix that issue. The belt cutter is super sharp, and the peice on the end works great for breaking glass or hitting a would be attacker. (lol)I'd reccomend this to someone.The other colors of this knife that you can see on Amazon are all from this manufacter, and all function/look the same aside from the color. I found a store in town that carries these knives, all around $35 per.

First off, I would like to say that I've never taken the time to sit down and write a review for anything I've bought online. However, in this case, I felt that it was imperative for me to warn buyers of this particular seller. The ONE good thing: the package arrived before expected. The BAD: First thing's first, they sent the wrong knife. In the picture it is clearly marked "RED M-Tech Fire Fighter Rescue Knife" when in fact the item shipped was a PINK knife. The blade depicted in the photo also shows lettering marked "FIRE FIGHTER", when in fact the blade I received displayed a "Heroes Forever" encryption. For a female firefighter this may be passable at first glance, but the actual knife itself seemed cheap, not sharpened, and poorly manufactured. (A cheap knock off I'm thinking?) Don't even bother attempting to call their customer sevice line. I was literally on the phone trying to call in for three hours straight, and received that ever-so annoying busy signal. Tried e-mailing them a couple of times, and that didn't work either. So far I've come to the realization that my money is long gone, and I'm now on a last minute search in finding my brother (who IS a firefighter) a thoughtful and legitimate gift for Christmas three days before the holiday. In the past, I've never had a single problem receiving exactly what I ordered online. This is the FIRST and hopefully the LAST exception. I will NEVER buy from this seller again, and encourage everyone out there to do the same.

I am a volunteer fire fighter. I purchased this knife so I would have some sort of safe glass breaking devise handy at all times. The blade is good quality and holds an edge. The opening mechanism is smooth and easy to use. I haven't used the glass break or the seatblet cutter, but will make sure to test that at our next extraction training. My only negative comment is that the red finnish chips fairly easily. All in all, I am please with my purchase.

Well made inexpensive tool which we keep in center console in case of emergency (need to cut seat belt, break glass, or protection if someone is reaching in. Opens fast and easily with one hand. Place in front passenger side corner of your center console standing upright with glass breaker facing up for quick access in an emergency. Will be in hand ready to open, or flip around to cut seat belt and/or break glass.

We bought this knife for my husband as a Father's Day gift. When it arrived I was not thrilled to see that the knife is not red it is a pinkish purple. But the knife itself is awesome. He was so proud of the boys for thinking of him and choosing such a great gift. I would recommend this item to any firefighter!

Shaving sharp right out of the box. The seatbelt cutter blade is very sharp too. For $3.33 throw one in every glove vehicle's glove compartment in case you come upon a car wreck. Weights just 4.3 oz due to aluminum handles, I also have the steel with g10 inserts version of this knife and that weights 6.0 oz

I was looking forward to getting my 2 knives i ordered from this website and the took a standard 5 days to reach me. When it finally came i opened it and the first one was right but then i opened the other one and they sent me a different knife. They sent me an mtech chainlink knife. which i could have gotten for 7$ if i wanted to. The chain link knife is cool but is sucky. overall dont order this if you actually want the knife in the picture
