Great mats and even better customer service!
I have two of these mats and they’re fantastic. I’ve owned them each for 2-3 years and they hold up to all the punishment we can throw at them. They stay put on our garage floor, offer great traction and clean up for storage easily. But, I really need to rave about the customer service. I had a few of the storage straps break recently and I sent a message to the seller. They responded so fast and sent me not one replacement set, but two. From Canada (I’m in the US). The shipping must’ve cost more than the straps. Included with the replacements was a hand written note. I am so impressed and cannot recommend these mats enough. Thanks Square36!

Just what I wanted
The surface is just like a high-quality yoga mat and it's sturdy enough that I can do any kind of home workouts from medium weightlifting, yoga, pilates, kickboxing, interval training and plyometrics. I just leave it on the floor 24/7, as it makes a very nice all -around floor mat as well. The only thing I wouldn't use it for is heavy weight things like powerlifting or heavy bench work. It's more of an indoor exercise thing too, so I wouldn't want to use it in an outdoor or garage home gym.

High Expectations, failed to deliver
I don't write reviews often because usually products I buy here are decent. Some are great and others fail to meet expectations but none of those products ever had me worried about my safety.First off I do a lot of workouts like Insanity, T25, P90 etc. I thought a mat like this would help cushion the blow of the workouts and extend the life of my carpet. When I received the product it took a day or two for it to flatten out completely. The edges took the longest to unfold properly. Its understandable because the mat was tightly wound for easier delivery. After it flattened out I did a couple workouts on it and was disappointed how much it shifted on my carpet. I would have to readjust it after a few moves and it definitely was annoying. I understand that this product was meant more for hardwood floors or really thin carpet and was willing to look past this problem. The movement was a bother but it wasn't the biggest issue.High intensity workouts are tough and creates a lot of perspiration. It's unavoidable. The description of the mat states that it is "Perfect To Use With Home Workout Programs (P90x, Insanity, TAM etc)". I don't understand how that is the case because even the slightest drippings of sweat caused the surface of the mat to become slippery. I'm not talking about a little slick, I mean it's like oil or ice. Workout moves like burpees, moving pushups and floor sprints were near impossible because if any moisture was on the sole of your sneakers you would be sliding around. I almost twisted my ankle a few times because of this issue. I tried cleaning the surface per their instructions on their website but to no avail. It was still like ice when there was any kind of moisture on it. I'm talking about drops of sweat causing this, not spilling an entire bottle of water on the mat and then working out. I would rather exercise on carpet than twist my ankle or even worse. This is a serious safety issue. I'm not sure if it was my specific mat or if they had a bad batch in production but this is unacceptable. I can't workout on this mat without worrying about injuring myself. I hope they can correct this issue because the product has potential.

Just Right!
Although I haven't tested the mat yet, I am impressed with its size, thickness, and overall substantialness. It's much heavier than I expected! My purpose for it is to work out in my living room so I have to figure out how to store it and be convenient to set out. It's not slippery on my wood floors, which is key for my work outs. Seems like a winner!!!

Pricey but good
Pricey but goodThis is a little on the expensive side in my opinion but I couldn’t find anything else that had half inch thickness and that was of the same quality

Wish I would have purchased sooner!
I've used only a yoga mat for years for exercising and got this as it's much larger for general workouts. I love that I can go barefoot or wear shoes on it. I wish I had purchased this a long time ago! it makes my workouts quieter and also give me more space to move. I realized that I'd been limiting my movement with just the yoga mat and now I get a better workout. I work out to exercise DVDs - mostly Ellen Barret and Jessica Smith so mostly go barefoot. When I need to do floor exercises I still layer my yoga mat on top. I'm 60 and need the extra padding!! The mat if quite dense and heavy so not squishy and comfy for floor work. But it needs to be that way to hold up to working out on it. I wish I'd purchased this sooner. My living room is quite small. I fold it in thirds and store it under my sofa when not in use. You wouldn't even know it's there.

This exercise mat is just perfect!
The size is perfect for our little apartment. I'm a Les Mills fan, and I'll be using it for the Body Combat and Body Pump classes. I think it will hold the weights pretty well and it'll provide cushioning for the floor exercises. Material is soft and thick, the color is a rich gray. We have hardwood floor and it doesn't slip at all. Very happy with this purchase!

Good product
Perfect for what I needed. I measured the area I wanted to set it in before-hand and it fits perfectly there. Feels durable and sturdy while also providing some good cushion. Was previously using the wife's yoga mat for home-exercise and realized I needed something a bit more. This fit the bill. Definitely recommend if this is the type of product you're in the market for.
