Does not sit flush against a wall or cabinet. The opening mechanism has a giant tab on top, behind the lid that makes it stick out about 5 inches.You step on the lever at the bottom and it stays shut for about 3 seconds until it finally flings open.and bangs the wall.There is no way this is worth the money. I spent the extra money expecting something that would last. The only bright side is that humor that I find when I realize this trash can is truly garbage.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Just got the Home Zone 12 gallon trash can and it's everything a trash can should be. Doesn't seem that hard, but somehow a lot of other trash cans miss the mark. The pedal feels solid and goes up easily. The lid closes itself slowly when you let go of the pedal. The lid also completely seals off the trash so smell doesn't leak out. Trash bags have been easy to put on. The inside container is also easy to take in and out. It also looks great which was the main reason I gave it a try in the first place. It is a bit more expensive then other ones out there, but it really does have high build quality. Probably won't need another trash can for 10 years so worth it IMO.

This is my second purchase of the Home zone 12 gal trash can. If this was an upgrade to the one I had I am sorry they took out the center air freshener holder under the top. I do like the front opening right under the top to be able to open the lid in addition to the foot pressure opening. Overall I’m very satisfied

While you do need to wipe the smudges off, otherwise this is a great trash can and that looks great. I expected SS to get smudgey so Amazon should probably not have asked about that at all IMO.The can is big, so it does not have to be emptied constantly. I have never had an odor problem. I do use a garbage bag in addition to the liner, and the standard kitchen size work fine.The soft close top is nice as well. Overall I'd buy again.

I like this trash can quite a bit. It replaced an old round step-on can that finally fell apart. The design makes it much easier to remove bags when full, and also allows for far more garbage to be accommodated than a round can. I very much like the way this can quietly opens and slowly closes.My only criticism would be that this can doesn’t sit “level,” and can be a bit “wobbly” when it’s less than 1/2 full.

This is a good size, holds a lot of trash. The inner liner is sturdy and made well, and easy to access, allowing you to empty and fit with a new trash bag with ease. It does not sit flush to the wall, but if that is not an issue for you this is an excellent purchase. No complaints!

This garbage can fits perfectly in the space under the overhang of our center island counter. It looks nice enough that we don’t feel like we need to hide it. The foot activation and the lid that automatically lowers slowly all help to rate this an A+.

We are returning this product because it is much too large for 2 adult people and too large for our kitchen.
