Thoroughly impressed
For what it is, this little amp kicks butt. Originally purchased six months ago for my patio, I needed something that had optical inputs for the patio TV and to run some speakers in stereo. I have since moved this butt kicker into my smallish man cave solely for 2.1 channel music listening. My music library is all MP3/ FLAC on my PC, so I use optical out from my PC to this amp and subwoofer out to a Fosi 220 watt sub amp running two 12" subs in a sealed box. I've run numerous brands/ models of speakers to this amp (Polk, Jamo, Micca, Alesis) currently running Micca OoO's and am very happy with the sound quality. Build quality is solid, but the remote is kinda cheesy, which is expected at this price point, but works and no sticky buttons etc. Never had an issue with bluetooth, works as expected for my situation. My patio setup is now relegated to a vintage 1992 Kenwood 200 watt amp that does not sound nearly as good as this amp. If you're looking for a budget amp that has great options like subwoofer out, optical input, bluetooth and separate bass/ treble controls, then don't hesitate.

Dust off grandmas old bones and get the party started!
This amp is amazing! ...and the Keiid KD-240BT outputs to more than your average "bookshelf" speakers you see in item descriptions or other user reviews. If you are looking to drive your old speakers to their maximum, shaking dust from your floorboards and straight onto your neighbors bad-side: the Keiid KD-240BT DELIVERS, and more!I was cautious to order the Keiid KD-240BT for my retro JVC SK-S44 3-Way Speakers. These JVC speakers are 120 watts, with 8-ohms impedance and frequency ranging from 35hz to 20kHz. I was cautious, as these speakers have been in storage for many years and I didn’t want to ruin my speakers, which certainly do not fall into the bookshelf category of 1970s assembly standards.A girl (JVC SK-S44 X2) is old but can deliver a punch that makes you think, “Did I really spend $400.00 for Bose computer speakers at one time? These were in storage for how long?” A receiver is only as good as the speakers they connect with, so on to the Keiid KD-240BT review!I enjoy vinyl, I do believe you can tell the difference between the vibrations of music VS their CD or digital counterpart: I do not consider myself an audiophile, nor do I know exactly what 8-ohms impedance means--I spent very little time researching the speakers I have been in my family unit since before my birth--so I decided, just try this affordable no-name amp out. (no offence, but Keiid? Who? Where?) Toss these notions aside and pick up this amp to listen for yourself!Setup was flawless and my speakers work better than ever! The ability to manipulate volume to suit my needs as an upstairs duplex rentee is exactly what I needed for my environment. I can drive home the BOOM and crank the bass when my neighbor is absent, and I can keep the volume at a comfortable level in situations where you desire loudness, but must reduce bass and lessen impact, such as night time vinyl binges. And regardless of your choice, it sounds great no matter what level you set your speakers to with the Keiid KD-240BT unit. The primary reason for upgrading my retro setup was the desire for bluetooth, and connecting your device does not get easier than with the Keiid KD-240BT!Bluetooth connection is seamless. The second you change the Keiid KD-240BT to BT, your device connects and you are instantly listening to your digital music… Which is wonderful if you like to keep the music going while you switch out your records or flip them over.As luck would have it I also received the newest model of this rec/amp. This version contains TWO inputs and an area to add a sub! Which is a very welcome surprise!! This version does not contain an area for FM connection--which really means nothing. If you have read this much of my review you already know the old units did not work well with FM radio anyway….. A simple fix is to look for an online radio station, or use the Aux input with an FM/AM radio with a standard headphone connection (I will be using an iPod that can detect FM signal, if ever I decide to listen to local stations). The upgraded unit also lost the micro SD card slot, but keeps the USB port. Gaining a second output and sub access is a clear and appropriate sacrifice. My one and only complaint, and it is a small one that is easily fixed: I wish there was more room for speaker wire to go inside the unit. I like a little length to my wires, but this unit is pretty shallow, requiring a shorter cable or, as I did, a blunted, folded cable that makes it feel snug. However, none of my preferences do anything in regards to sound quality. It is just preference between this or a unit that uses banana plugs… and when the unit sounds great, it really is just your preference.

Surprisingly useful and good...
I won't say this little amp has the clarity, detail, and broad frequency soundstage of DAC amps costing 15 times the price...it doesn't, but you were expecting...what? It is however, surprisingly good for it's modest 40 watt per side power rating. Generally most 8 ohm bookshelf speakers tend to perform best with at least 60 watts driving them...you'll hear the difference here...if you have ever heard it before. This little amp illustrates how much speakers matter, when paired with a quality amp. Speakers have to be about 65% of that equation, but the amp really does matter...a lot. Yes! Despite several disconcerting reviews to the contrary based on slightly older units? The remote does control volume and will program IR codes to a programmable All in One Remote. Nope...It won't sound huge (if you have heard huge before), but with some EQ tweaks combines with a particular "mode" for additional shaping with presets like Pop, Classical, etc. it does quite well. The rest is all gravy as they say having an array of inputs hard to find at this price point: optical, two analogue, aux input, bluetooth, USB, SPIDF, even a karaoke style mic input, complete with rather cheesy echo. I'm using it as a little entertainment hub in a workshop, with a wall mounted display, roku for streaming, decent basic bookshelf speakers. It get's loud enough as required, without a ton of distortion (unless you crank the bass, then this amp get's beyond muddy). It's almost ridiculously light, as in a shoebox with one sandal in it...possibly lighter...it's practically tissue box weight and form factor. Point being it goes anywhere and throws next to no heat. Kitchen, den, garage, whatever. For the application, if sensible like a smaller space that needs an amp, it does very well. It's not a "Receiver" as receivers have (in common audio speak) radio tuners that with an antenna can play AM/FM. Misnomer calling it that really. Also it does not have ground wire connection for turntables, you'll have to use the ultra cheap variety for this and get a separate tuner for radio off air. Overall no regrets, I'm keeping it, works very well. Just don't expect it to knock your socks off in terms of audio quality, if you've hear even one step above it and you're bound to be ok with the quality.

¡Sobresaliente!
