Weavings of Nomads in Iran: Warp-faced Bands and Related Textiles

After several delays I was quite excited when this book arrived at my doorstep. I’ve only started perusing it, and it will take a while to take in all of its treasures. I am not a historian or expert in ethnography, but a hand weaver with interest in how those before me and in other parts of the world created items of beauty, meaning and connection to their daily lives. In terms of the snapshot of this type of weaving in this part of the world the book doesn’t disappoint. Very interesting subject matter that transports you to a different place and time. Great photographs of woven items and social context as to their creators. Reasonable introduction as to the techniques used... still looking to see if there is information about techniques used to create certain finish details, etc...BUT, the size of the print is very small, and the end/foot notes and last page with author’s bios are practically illegible. Still giving this 5 stars as it’s better to have this book with too small print than no book at all. Just have to get out a magnifying glass!

Book is beautiful and a very good price.
