I LOVE THIS GAME!A beautifully fun adventure full of friendship, heartbreak and art. I finished this game long before writing this review so I'll try to pull from memory. A family friendly adventure about an artistic boy growing up in a desolate seaside town, dealing with loneliness and bullies. After discovering a magic paintbrush, he makes friends with the genies that come to life on the walls. The main objective of the game is to bring the city of Denska back to life with art. This game is beautiful, creative and underrated. The story will tug at your heart strings while the gameplay brings out your inner artist. You don't have to be good at art to enjoy this game! ;)

Concrete Genie is a simple yet touching experience of a young boy who is relentlessly bullied and finds solitude in his artistic creativity. As the player, you help him deal with his emotions by bringing his art to life through a magic paint brush. Using graffiti-style magical drawings on most solid walls throughout his hometown to help him with various obstacles, like platforming or reaching previously inaccessible areas. The addition to combat late in the game occurs naturally with the games narrative. As the boy feels rage towards his bullies, you will too. The story is cliche and predictable; however, it's truly a pleasure to see it through to the end and get the ending you feel you deserve.Beautiful game design comes in many shapes and sizes...and budgets. Concrete Genie is worth every second of your time. The experience may be short but the impact will remain with me, both in memory and my video game collection forever.

Such a great story, beautiful game, just overall a really good game. If you’re looking to just chill and make some art, this is the way to go. Half way through it’s a whole new game with combat and new features. Totally worth it.

I love the game and the mechanics. Really gets you engaged with the creative aspect of the game. Love how the game takes a 180 towards the last part and adds some interesting gameplay.Its a fairly short game, but enjoyable throughout and never boring. The genies coming to life is magical and the only limit is your imagination. The vr component is very impressive, but again not very lengthy and it's really up to you to get the most out of the game as it's mostly coming up with new masterpieces.I recommend it and would add that kids would have lots of fun. Just not too young as the later part of the game may have some startling moments for them.

My one and only complaint is that this game was too short and that is actually a compliment because I loved it so much I didn't want it to end. The graphics, gameplay, and everything else was absolutely amazing. The story is very heartwarming and I even choked up a little in some parts. I hope this company makes more of this kind of game. They could really expand this story and add more elements to make it last longer. This game is a true gem. I highly recommend it.

Update: Thankfully it appears they fixed the issue through this current update. The game is fun and unique but the motion controls hurt it. You can turn them off and play without but it’s too “clunky” to control. Game is fun and different than anything else out there. Also, the second half is very different than what’s been advertised. It’s kinda jarring but a nice twist. Give it a try.The game is unplayable. Could be the new 7.00 update or just the game, but it won’t even load up and crashes my system to the point where it just shuts down. Tried numerous reinstall to no avail. They need to patch the game big time. And it isn’t my system. I’ve been playing other games with no problem.

My 4 year old boy loves it. Open world exploration, paintings that come to life, and it seems non-violent.A rare example of a little kid frendly game on ps4.I should add that although it has the actual disk, it did download a heavy update after it was in. I recommend making sure your wifi is hooked up, at least for the initial update.
