What a nice surprise this was,the presentation was first class,the velvet box,the little hologram on it subtle.The fragrance for my hubby he says is warm leather incense smell, slightly smokey,the opening lasts only minutes before it goes into its own chemistry and has a sweet vanilla suede type smell,the Oud is a quiet background smell for those of you who are scared of Oud you need not shy from it.He owns Bottega Venneta pour home and there's a definite link between the two.But the longevity of Velvet Oud is clearly a winner.Ombre Leather he says no, as he owns that also.But in his words (a man of many fragerences) it's a great buy for winter time it's already been moved to the front of his fragrance shelf.In his own words he would pay this amount for the box and the bottle,which both scream luxury and the fragrance matches them both Well done to House of Lattafa.

For those like me who are new to Arabian fragrances, this is a great starting point.The packaging is superb. The fragrance is lovely.The fragrance lasts well, but don't believe all the rubbish about smelling strong after 12 hours. It's true you can identify it after many hours but in my opinion only if you are right on top of it.In my humble and not at all expert opinion this is far superior to equally priced mainstream uk/euro fragrances.

Very strong smell

Lovely scent, quite sweet and cittrussy but longevity is not good,really nice for first half an hour but within an hour hardly even a skin scent. Shame as its a lovely scent.

The scent is awful. I smelt this on someone and she showed Me The bottle so I ordered some. There must be different types of velvet because the one that I received it’s awful and smells disgusting
