Sellstrom High Temperature Cutting/Grinding, Indirect Vented, Odyssey II Protective Safety Goggle, Shade 5 UV/IR Lens, Black Frame, S80211

I don't do metal work so I cannot attest to the effectiveness of the Sellstrom High Temperature Cutting/Grinding, Indirect Vented, Odyssey II Protective Safety Goggles when used for that purpose. I use an IPL laser for hair removal and I feel these are a whole lot better than the flimsy pair of sunglasses you get with most kits if for no other reason than they protect *around* the glasses, most specifically at the bottom. This is important especially if you are doing an upper lip hair removal with the IPL. You'll still see a flash to a degree even with your eyes closed, but not as much. I feel these are protecting my eyes much better than sunglasses would for this type of treatment.

These goggles are the perfect shade for use while oxy-acetylene welding and cutting. They are not dark enough for electric arc welding (stick, MIG, TIG). They are much darker than regular sunglasses but you can still see in bright sunlight with them on.I have used them several times with the cutting torch and am very pleased with their performance.For me they are very comfortable to use. They fit fine over my regular eyeglasses, the wide elastic strap keeps them firmly in place but isn't too tight, the edges that press against your face are soft and don't pinch or dig in.The optical quality of the lens is very good. I can not detect any distortion in vision while wearing them. The wrap-around lens also gives you decent peripheral vision.They are well ventilated and I haven't had any problems with them fogging up while in use.Overall I am quite pleased with these.

The shades are pretty nice with the exception of lack of air flow. The goggles are air tight and start sweating after a while. Have to remove to cools down. Some sort of small air vents on top may help. Also would like the shades a bit darker but not as dark as shade 10.

Use for plasma cutting under 40 amp. Great clarity and comfort while using over glasses.

Excellent pair of Shade 5 Welding GOGGLES. Comfortable fit wide panoramic view and fit over regular 👓 glasses. Recommended for acetylene welding

Nice googles, but so easy to scratch. I keep them wrapped in soft cloth in a drawer. Wish they came with a case

I bought these to relieve my photosensitivity during migraines and surprisingly they work much better than I had expected! I didn't realize how effective the green lense would be at reducing the pain, I just wanted something darker than most ski goggles I was finding. I'm no doctor or anything, just someone who thought it was worth a try and it paid off for me.

I use it for motocycle riding and it is working out well. With the warm weather here it breathes and keeps rain out of my eyes.
