Swweeney Feeders Automatic Koi Feeder - 5 to 10 Pound Capacity, Champagne - Basic Timer

The unit itself looks great and battery never drained with the solar panel attached but there is one major problem...the feeding program doesn't work. When I tried to set the feeding time, the clock keeps reset itself to whenever, who knows when. For example, I set the current time to be 1pm, 3 hours later, (it should have been 4pm right?) the clock shows it was 8am for some reason. It does it again when I tried over and over again. I decided to bring it into the house for testing, even when the time to feed is up (I set 1 minute before and sat there and wait to see), it still doesn't feed. The only time it do feed is by using the Test/Clear button. I hope I just got a unit with a bad program control, I might try to order another one because everybody else's unit seems to be working fine.

The only negative so far is that the clock has lost several minutes since it was powered up. The 5 different time settings for activation are nice. You can also set each cycle for any opening duration from 1-59 seconds. It is very easy to program. One other thing is that it scares the heck out of us when it goes off and not expecting it. lol. The photo is in early spring so we haven't landscaped around the pond yet.

needs to hang in air as food comes out of bottom....how on earth do I suspend this over pond so that I can easily take it down to fill and reset it?Never used...if anyone wants mine they can have it!

Sweeney makes great products. I have 2 of the Koi feeders with the solar charger working over my aquaponics systems. Both go off without fail and are simple to set-up and operate. I have a Sweeney feeder that has been in operations for 10 years.

Works great. Very useful for feeding our koi on a regular schedule. The electronic timer is quite flexible. This works off a batter, so you either will need to charge it regularly, or add the available solar cell charger.

The solar charger failed very early in about two years of it life cycle. The feeder is well crafted from corrosion free material

I love the feeder it works great and it has solved the problem of feeding the fish when we are gone.

3 months trouble free so far!
