Q: Does it help growing edges ?

Not that I'm aware of. It's a really good smoothing pomade. The black Jamaican or regular castor oil is known for hair growth, just the oil. There probably isn't enough in the pomade for this.

Q: is it "normal" for this product to grow mold?

I’m not an expert but have been using castor oil for many years and have NEVER seen mold. If the question is to confirm that it won’t than I’ll say I’ve not seen it grow mold. If you see mold, it is a natural product but maybe it was exposed? I don’t know. No. It’s not “normal,” in my experience to see mold anywhere on/in castor oil.

Q: Would this work to style men's short hair?

Yes. You can use it for any hair length.
