Why didn't I discover this before?
I discovered this personal electrolysis kit on YouTube and wanted to try it on. I had spent a lot of money over the past 5 years, paying for electrolysis sessions by professionals. Clean+Easy is a much less costly alternative. The instructions are very clear, you need to read them carefully before starting using the kit. If you're used to electrolysis, you'll love it. Just be patient as it takes a few minutes to feel comfortable doing it yourself. I thank the Covid-19 outbreak because otherwise I wouldn't have discovered this very easy solution (and saved money!). I've been using Clean+Easy for 2 months now, it works perfectly.

Does What it Says
This little torture device certainly works. Granted, it's a bit awkward doing electrolysis on oneself, but if you're patient you'll get the hang of it. Be sure to use the lowest setting that is effective to get the hair out without tugging the skin at all. The lower the setting, the less likely to leave a scab. Practice some place inconspicuous on your body, I hold it in for about 3-5pulses of electricity, the most painful part, to me, is getting the stylus in the hair shaft, then it's bearable. Taking ibuprofen about an hour ahead of time works wonders for pain, redness and swelling.I only do a few hairs in a section at a time to avoid too much damage. I'm happy with the effectiveness and most of the reviews I read helped give an accurate detailing of this product. My hair is VERY coarse, dark red, brown, black and the dreaded lightning bolts of white hairs that pop up time to time. This works on all of them at different settings. Just remember, the higher the setting, the more damage it is doing to not only the root, but to your skin since that's its job.Be sure to keep a little bowl of salt water and a towel handy and keep your fingers moist, not dripping, it's not all that inconvenient but increases conductivity. Ohhhh and be sure the battery is actually plugged in...it was in the unit upside down (presumably for shipping) so yes, I sat there for some time poking my face and curious as to why it wasn't working...haha.I don't find the buzz sound all that loud, it's a beep and lets me know electricity is being delivered. Works for me.Lastly, I had electrolysis years ago on just a few unruly hairs that didn't work because I didn't have a good technician. Later I shelled out tons of money for TWO YEARS of laser, and the laser clinic told me to shave my face in between visits to make the hair darker. Well...the hair got darker and more coarse in my goatee area, but the PAINFUL laser did not work. At all. So what started out as a few dark hairs here and there, turned into a lifetime of battling a position in the circus.

It doesn't work.

Disappointing.
I have used this product with a great deal of patience and persistence in the hope that it would do its job, albeit slower than a professional treatment. I even consulted Youtube tutorials on this as I'd read reviews saying that people had misunderstood how to use the product correctly. Unfortunately I can only express my regret in buying this product. Inserting these tiny needles into your hair follicles is fiendishly tricky without a large magnifying mirror, plenty of light and the hand steadiness that would rival that of a mime artist. As for the tweezers that are included, they may as well be salad tongs they are so abominably incapable of gripping even the thicker hairs. Also, in my opinion it is very easy to infect yourself if you do not follow the stylus cleaning instructions to the letter. In terms of its effectiveness, I have thick hair and a lot of facial hair I need to be rid of. This was therefore probably not the best option considering there are more effective and faster laser treatment options out there, but being a student who is on a budget, I thought I'd give this a try. I have seen no change whatsoever in the frequency of hair growth nor the thickness, and I have been using it consistently for about 3 months. I would also like to add that the name itself is misleading; it is not clean and easy by any measure. If you are looking for a no nonsense hair removal method, this is not for you. Pay for high quality treatment or buy a well known branded home laser kit from a manufacturer like Philips. This is just too time consuming, ineffective and cumbersome to use if you have a lot of thick hair to get rid of.

Fine during a pandemic but...
I've had many professional electrolysis treatments and I can tell you this device really does work. You can see the hair slide right out with the root bulb when you've hit the bull's eye. But it's not easy to do and it will take lots and lots of practice to be more accurate with getting the stylet tip into the follicle. Also, be careful using this on your face. I used it on a low setting (3) on my legs and it left very visible red marks. I know they'll go away so I'm not that worried about it but would be concerned about scarring on more sensitive/visible areas. The product itself is cheap/flimsy but that's to be expected for the price - it costs less than a single professional electrolysis treatment. The chord is not that long so it can be difficult to work on certain areas. BOTTOM LINE: with salons closed due to COVID, I would recommend this to get rid of that nagging dark stray hair but it's no substitute for the real deal.
