findmall AXA #1 Quick Change 250-101 Tool Post Turning & Facing Holder

While the overall quality was ok, the holder’s dove tail was too small for my quick change piston type tool post. In order to get it to fit I had to file the dovetail.

Perfect for my machine. Always can use more so I'll probably order again.

1 out of 4 holders had the dove tail milled too large. Even with the tool post locked down you can move it up and down with your hands. The other ones are fine and will work.

First 8 I ordered were just fine.second two orders didn’t fit the post correctly. Seems like some are not ground to the standard to fit Aloris tool post.

These were better machined and finished than I expected and they are a good value for the money. They slide onto the toolpost as expected and lockup well. I will buy more.

These tool holders are described as AXA compatible. They're not. I have an Alorix AXA toolpost and they don't fit. The dove tail mount on the back is too wide. These tool holders seem to be BXA. All these tool holders have no dimensions online for the dove tail mount. I have no idea where the 250 101 number comes from.

Good value for the money. These are better made and more accurate than other tool holders I have purchased that were made in China. I've bought ten of these now (two sets), and have been happy with all of them. Others I have purchased through Amazon and from China were poorly milled or ground and did not allow cutters to seat properly against both the bottom and the back of the tool channel. Of course, if you want gold standard, buy Aloris holders made in the USA, which I have also done.

It's too bad there can't be just a little more quality control on the mating surfaces. Not sure how these are made but however the dovetails are cut, varies greatly and how well or if at all, they will lock onto the tool post. They all need to be shimmed in order work and they are not all the same, so each needs to be shimmed differently. It's unfortunate but the low cost seems to make it less painful for idiots like me.If I needed to make money as a machinist, I wouldn't even think of these as being viable. But as a hobbyist, it's OK to putz around until things work right. Seems just a proper machining technique would solve the manufacturing issue with these. Too bad.

Pesimo producto. En menos de 10 minutos de pruebas lo devolvi. No tiren su dinero. He comprado otros mejores que ajustan perfectamente.
