The Art and Making of Aquaman

This is a nice book with nice artwork, going through the film from character and scene to the films completion. My only dissapointment is that it doesn't show many images or concepts of the varying outfits, scenes or monsters. It feels limited and incomplete when compared with other similiar 'art of'/'making of' books. The end monster - The 'Karathen', is the biggest dissapointment in the book, with only 1 part image from the film and NO concepts. It is spread over 1 double page, when other characters/locations are given 8 pages, it could be easily missed and seems like a lesser important part of the movie, squeezed in near the end of the book and being overlooked for other images from the Aquaman comics instead.I personally feel that it needs an additional book or to be thicker, for all the artwork missed, left out or just incomplete, but otherwise, a nice book....if you know what to expect.

A Q U A M A N is probably the most awesome comic book movie of 2018 putting DC back on top once more, this book is stunning and is a must if your a fan of the movie, 180 colour pages of beautiful art and plenty info about the movie and making of and comic origins, and plenty photos of the stars etc, the book is very well presented with a hard cover too with a wrap around sleeve on the hard cover, highly recommended for fans of the movie.

The book begins with a foreword by Jason Momoa and an introduction by James Wan. The actors and those people involved in the production process discuss the making of the film and the book is full of concept art of locations, creatures and vessels. The characters from the film are given a few pages each although I would have preferred more costume art. The art book for Justice League has more costume art in it. There are lots of double-page paintings and a few fold-out pages, and some art from Geoff Johns' Aquaman run is included. For fans of the film and collectors of art books this book is essential.

Great book and fantastic movie. This is mainly a book of concept art, giving some interesting insights into the thinking and development behind the visuals in the movie. All the memorable scenes are covered and expanded upon. From the looks of it, the movie largely stuck to the developmental ideas, so there’s no great ‘what could have been’ type artwork in this book (unless they just decided to not include it). But, with interviews with the cast and crew, this is a great visual reference guide to a memorable and successfully executed adventure tale.

Great book. I will take it to London Film & comic con in July to get it signed by the actor who played Aquaman (Jason Mamoa). I can't wait to see him in person and have my photo taken with him.

Ich hätte nicht damit gerechnet, dass mich die Verfilmung von (ausgerechnet!) AQUAMAN derart begeistert hätte, wie es der Fall ist - meiner Meinung nach liegt mit diesem Film der mit großem Abstand bisher stärkste Film aus dem DC Universum vor.Ein wichtiger Teil der Begeisterung ist der völlig einzigartige Look des Films. Die gesamte Unterwasserszenerie ist schlichtweg grandios, knallbunt und überdreht dargestellt worden - und trotzdem sieht alles schlüssig und einfach "cool" aus. Es gibt gerittene Haie, Rochen, Wale, Riesenseespferdchen und gigantische Monster zu bestaunen, kombiniert mit futuristischer Architektur und schnittigen Fahrzeugen in allen Größenordnung. Ein Buch wie das vorliegende bietet sich bei AQUAMAN also wirklich an!Insofern habe ich mich wirklich auf das Buch THE ART AND MAKING OF AQUAMAN gefreut. Insgesamt ist dieses Buch auch soweit gelungen, ein wenig wundert mich nur die Gewichtung des Inhalts.Ich hätte mich gefreut, wenn man im Buch mehr Szenerien aus dem Film zu sehen bekommen hätte - aber leider hält sich das Buch eher an Concept Art und Vergleiche zur Comic Vorlage. Dagegen ist inhaltlich überhaupt nichts zu sagen, aber ich glaube, das ein Film wie AQUAMAN schlichtweg optisch doch mehr weil solches Buch geboten hätte, als man hier zu sehen bekommt. Das wirklich optisch völlig furiose Finale, welches jede Menge an futuristischen Fahrzeugen, Unterwasser Kreaturen, Effekten und dem gewaltigen Karathen bot wird z.b. sehr stiefmütterlich und nebenbei abgefrühstückt.Erfreulich für ein solches Buch ist, das auch relativ viel zum Film und zu den Schauspielern geschrieben wurde - und die hier enthaltenen Texte lesen sich wirklich gut und unterhaltsam.Die Präsentation als solche ist hochwertig.Alles in allem bin ich zwischen guten 3 und knappen 4 Sternen hin und hergerissen.Ich lande insgesamt bei knappen 4 Sternen - und bin nach wie vor überzeugt, dass dieses Buch noch viel besser und beeindruckender hätte sein können.

If you like art, and are curious as to how the movies get to the final look, this is for you. (If you just want more pics of Jason Momoa as Aquaman, this isn't for you.) Art/movie lovers appreciate this beautifully done coffee-table book.

Like the previous Art and Making of books from the DCEU, if you are a fan of the movies and/ or characters then there is a nice amount of concept art and information of the process of filming in this book.

O livro é muito bom pois tem keyframe concept art. Color Script e muoto mais e sabemos que lidar com isso em esfera marítima não é fácil.Recomendo e muito.Roque Art.
