USS Nimitz (CVN-68): America’s Supercarrier: 1975 to the Present (Legends of Warfare: Naval, 11)

I have my husband this book for Fathers Day. He said that it was his favorite gift. Great pictures and information.

A little too much technical detail about electrical systems. Would have liked more information about construction phase. A lot of detailed specs about defenses for a book printed in China.

Bought two of these for the parents and grandparent of a young sailor whose first deployment was on this carrier. It was a fantastic gift to teach them about the carrier their boy was on and a great coffee table book thereafter to work as a conversation starter. I highly recommend this as a gift for family members of deployed sailors on this carrier.

Just not a complete history of the ship. Feel like I could of done better checking out the navy website for more information. As a former crew member, I felt this book was incomplete.

I was stationed aboard the USS Nimitz from 1992-96 in the Reactor Department. It was written in the book as more a foot note that it existed. What about weaponry upgrades, marine division, weapons department etc. 80 percent of this book is about the air wing and some of its deployments. What about major accidents/plane crashes? This book is written for the average person who knows there are aircraft carriers, not for someone who wants to really learn about the Nimitz class carriers.

Great book.You might want to tell your guys doing the packaging to try not to glue the book to the box next time.

Lo mejor del libro es la calidad de la edición y la tapa dura. Del 30 al 40% de fotos, se las dedica a personas que no le interesan a nadie. Fotos mal elegidas y de contraste fuerte. Algunas fotos buenas de aviones. El barco, sus departamentos, funcionalidades, estructuras, detalles, datos y cuestiones técnicas, etc, todavía los estoy esperando. Libro sin estructura en lo que al barco se refiere. Veremos el texto. No lo recomiendo.

A mediocre book. Some of the photos are good, it is unusual to see the propellers and rudders of these magnificent ship. There are better available though, with more information. Disappointing.
