Wonderful Classic Cartoons
I love this collection of cartoons. I had never heard of these characters before. Hilarious and well done. These are silent era cartoons with music. The music is also really well integrated with the cartoons. Some of it is organ music and some is hot jazz band vintage music. It’s all good. Package includes a Blu-ray Disc as well as a DVD. Excellent!

Impressive Restoration
Good selection of Bobby Bumps covering his career. Interesting bonus items. No one is doing restorations of 100 year old cartoons.

Bobby Bumps, the first cartoon kid superstar! Great stuff!
Tommy José Stathes bestows another treasure trove of extremely vintage animated cartoon shorts upon us grateful fans with the latest volume in his absolutely essential Cartoon Roots Blu-ray series, Bobby Bumps and Fido. I was an IndieGoGo backer of this project, which ended up being a few years in the making, and the final results are more than worth the long wait. The first cartoon series made using creator Earl Hurd’s patented cel animation process, Bobby Bumps is charmingly drawn and looks like nothing else you’ve ever seen. The characters have distinctive personalities, and the amount of shading is pretty astounding for a period rife with cartoons consisting mainly of black line drawings.Tommy and his team have spared no effort or expense in restoring these rare films, searching archives far and wide for source material and often piecing together titles from multiple prints to make them as complete as possible, plus many hours of painstaking frame-by-frame digital restoration and stabilization to make the adventures of Bobby Bumps look as pristine as possible. Ten of the fifteen cartoons have original organ scores by Charlie Judkins, which fit the films perfectly; the remaining five have compilation scores which still get the job done nicely. The extras section includes Vintage Publicity and Behind The Scenes image galleries, as well as Earl Hurd’s political newspaper cartoons and archives containing Hurd’s comics featuring Bobby’s early incarnations of Pudge Perkins and Brick Bodkin, each with a dog named Fido. All in all, this set is an absolute must for classic animation fans; the cartoons are still entertaining a hundred years later, the presentation is stellar, and the extras are the icing on the cake. Highly recommended!

If you are into Scooby Do and or Transformers you may be amazed that better cartoons exist. This is the real thing...But, then again, I'm 66 yrs. old...
