The battery compartment is located on the opposite side of the handle, you should see a small screw located near the arm rest.

Q: Can I exchange mine for one that works?

I exchanged mine and got another one that didn’t work. Until Amazon pulls this batch we’ll keep getting bad ones.

Q: How can i get the light to stop blinking and the squeeling sound to stop on my granddaughters just opened metal detector?

Q: Will this detector detect buried sprinkler heads. I am looking for a head that is buried under several inches soil

If the sprinkler head contains metal, the Jr Detector should be able to detect it.
